Hamilton's Omlid hits game-winner over Polson

HAMILTON -- Hunter Omlid's buzzer-beating 3-pointer lifted the Hamilton boys' basketball team over Polson on Saturday night, 58-57, and sent the home bench and crowd into a frenzy.

"(Hunter) was excited; the whole bench was excited -- it was a hard fought game, Polson is a great team." Hamilton coach Travis Blome said of the win against Class A's third-place team a year ago.

Omlid's game-winning shot came just moments after Polson captured the lead 57-55. He led the Broncs with a game-high 23 points.

"Great players sometimes make their coaches look good," Blome said.

Matthew Rensvold led the Pirates with 15 points, and Jeremiah North Piegan added 13 more for Polson (1-4 overall). Ky Burch and Tanner Goligoski each scored eight points for undefeated Hamilton (4-0).
