Hamilton holds off Columbia Falls, 52-41
Hamilton 52, Columbia Falls 41
Hamilton made as many shots from beyond the arc as it did in the key at the University of Montana's Dahlberg Arena and they added up to a nine-point win over Columbia Falls.
Carter Kearns had three of the Broncs' nine 3-pointers to finish with 10 points. Teammates Hunter Omlid and Tanner Goligoski led the way with 17 and 11, respectively.
The trio was too much for the Wildcats to overcome, though Logan Stephens gave it a go by himself with 22 points. He hit on four triples.

Butte Central 61, Frenchtown 51
A cold third quarter doomed the Broncs.
Frenchtown enjoyed a 31-26 halftime lead but was outscored 15-2 in the third frame. Butte Central then sealed the victory with the help of 12 points from the free-throw line in the final frame.
Ethan Pyron and Jacob Price shared team-high scoring honors for the Broncs with 14 points apiece. Price had four 3-point goals.
Dan McCloskey scored a game-high 16 points for the Maroons, 11 coming in the second half.

Dillon 50, Whitefish 27
Dillon's Tanner Haverfield had another big game, and the defending state champs rolled against Whitefish.
Haverfield, who scored 21 points in a win against Polson on Friday, finished with a team-high 18 against the Bulldogs on Saturday. His brother, Michael, chipped in eight more, and Dillon led 37-18 at the half.
Sawyer Silliker scored 10 points to lead Whitefish's scorers.

Stevensville 46, Browning 44
The Yellowjackets trailed 33-32 headed into the fourth quarter, but they managed to take the lead and the game against Browning.
Dalton Bragg scored six points in the deciding fourth quarter for Stevi, and he finished with a team-high 14 points. Jarod Kingsbury added 11 more for the Jackets.
Browning's Weston Mad Plume led all scorers with 17 points. He hit two 3-pointers in the loss.

Polson 77, Corvallis 43
The Pirates put Friday's loss to Dillon in the rear-view mirror with a big win against the Blue Devils.
Polson's Matthew Rensvold finished with a game-high 19 points, and Jeremiah North Piegan added 16 in the win. Jaydon Bautista also reached double figures for the Pirates with 10 points.
Corvallis' Logan Roth hit three 3-pointers and led his team with 13 points.

Central boys rally in third, close tourney with win
MISSOULA — The Butte Central boys’ basketball team rode a big third quarter to its second win of the season Saturday afternoon.
The Maroons outscored Frenchtown 15-2 in the third frame, and the Maroons completed the Missoula tipoff tournament with a 2-0 record with a 61-51 win over the Broncs in Dahlberg Arena.
The big third quarter helped the Maroons overcome a 31-26 halftime deficit.
Sophomore Dan McCloskey hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points to lead four Maroons in double figures in the victory.
Sam Johnston scored 10 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 13. He hit 8 of 12 free throws in the final frame to help the Maroons ice the win.
Tanner Kump hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and joined Nate McGree with 10 points.
Cade Holter tossed in seven points for the Maroons, while Tyge Yelenich and Matt Simkins each scored two points, and Luke Heaphy tossed in one. Archie Petritz and Aron Richards also played for the Maroons.
Ethan Pyron and Jacob Price each scored 14 points to place the Broncs, who were whistled for 26 fouls.
BC is back in action Thursday when they travel to Anaconda to take on the Copperheads in a non-conference game.

Dan McCloskey scored a game-high 16 points, and the Butte Central boys basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 61-51 win over Frenchtown at the Western A tip-off tournament on Saturday in Missoula.
The Maroons trailed 31-26 at halftime, but outscored the Broncs by a 15-2 margin in the third quarter to pull away for good.
Sam Johnston added 13 points in the win, while Tanner Kump and Nate McGree added 10 apiece.
Ethan Pyron and Jacob Price led Frenchtown with 14 points apiece, while Austin Means added 10.
Central next begins a three-game road trip by traveling to Class B Anaconda on Thursday night.

Tanner Haverfield scored a game-high 18 points, and the Dillon boys nearly doubled up on Whitefish at the Western A tip-off tourney.
The Beavers led by double digits after the first quarter and by a 37-18 margin at halftime.
Michael Haverfield added eight points in the win.
Sawyer Silliker was the only Whitefish scorer in double figures with 10.
