Plainfield Tornadoes 9U Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Lombard lightning by a score of 16-10 in Lombard.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U and Lombard lightning traded the lead back-and-forth on Sunday, but eventually Plainfield Tornadoes 9U prevailed 16-10. Plainfield Tornadoes 9U took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at nine with Plainfield Tornadoes 9U batting in the top of the fifth when Colin Coberley hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Johnny Mendoza collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Plainfield Tornadoes 9U to victory. Johnny singled in the first, singled in the second, walked in the third, doubled in the fourth, and hit a triple in the fifth with the bases loaded and scored on an errant throw to 3b.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U took an early lead in the first inning.
Lombard lightning knotted the game up at nine in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lombard lightning scored one run with a double with zero outs in the fourth inning.

Dylan Baist earned the win for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U. He tossed one and one-third innings, giving up one run, three hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Sam Beringer started the game for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U. He went one inning, surrendering two runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U had ten hits in the game. Johnny and Dylan each collected multiple hits for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U.
