PLAYOFF OVERTIME RULES

 

The top 6 teams advance to the playoffs. The first week, the first two teams will have a bye. Then 3rd will play 6th and 4th plays 5th. The playoffs will be in two towns that will be determined by who can host and what teams are playing. The second week, the lowest seeded team that won the first week plays the #1 team and the other winner plays #2.

 

The winners of those games will advance to the Super Bowl which is in Maypearl this year.

PLAYOFF OVERTIME RULES:

 

1st OVERTIME PERIOD

In the event a game is tied at the end of regulation, there will be a full quarter sudden death overtime played. The first team to score will be declared the winner. There will be a 5 minute break before the overtime begins to allow coaches to hydrate thier players. Coin toss will determine who receives the ball. Each team will be given 2 timeouts for the full quarter. If the game is still tied after the full quarter sudden death overtime, there will be a second overtime period to be played. The 2nd overtime rules will be played as follows:

2nd OVERTIME PERIOD

FRESHMAN DIVISION:The ball will be placed on the 15 yard line. Each team will have 4 plays to score a touchdown. THERE IS NO CHANCE OF A 1ST DOWN. Only the down marker will be used for the spot of the ball. There will be NO timeouts given for the 2nd overtime period. All penalties will count. If a team scores a touchdown and the opposing team fails to score or there is a change of possession, the Team that scored will be declared the winner. Change of possession rules will count towards a teams possession. Example: If Team A fumbles the ball on 1st down and Team B recovers, that counts as Teams A possession in the overtime. If Team A fumbles or a ball is intercepted and Team B recovers the ball and returns it for a touchdown, the game will be over. If the game is still tied after the 2nd OT, teams will replay 2nd Overtime Period rules until there is a winner.

 

 

JUNIOR DIVISION:The ball will be placed on the 20 yard line. Each team will have 4 plays to score a touchdown. THERE IS NO CHANCE OF A 1ST DOWN. Only the down marker will be used for the spot of the ball. There will be NO timeouts given for the 2nd overtime period. All penalties will count. If a team scores a touchdown and the opposing team fails to score or there is a change of possession, the Team that scored will be declared the winner.
