Class of 2013: Most Wins of Any PHS Class

June 7, 2013
Proctor baseball's Class of 2013 has become the class with the most wins in school history. The victory on Friday, May 17, over Thief River Falls at Hibbing was the 63rd win for the PHS baseball program since 2010. The previous record for a four-year span was 62 set by the Class of 2012.

The Class of 2013 is Matt Dolsen, Paul Hegstrom, Jimmy Merling, Ben Nelson, and Jack Nikko. They ended up with 67 class wins. The Rails had 11 wins in 2013. They had 19 wins in 2012, 22 in 2011, and 15 in 2010.

The four-year mark of the Class of 2013 coincidentally is the same overall career win-loss record as PHS Head Coach Kyle Wojtysiak, who finished his fourth season in 2013. The Rails have posted 67 wins and 25 losses, a .728 winning percentage, since 2010. Wojtysiak needs one win to tie Tim Rohweder (2000-09) for the second-most baseball coaching wins in school history. Rich Petersson (1977-90) is the leader with 131.
