Update to 2013 Schedule and the 2013 LML Playoffs

July 3, 2013

On Tuesday, July 2nd an emergency meeting was called by the Commissioner of the Lower Montco Senior American Legion League.  The meeting involved the entire board of directors of the League, representatives from all eight organizations, and the American Legion Sectional Director for the State of PA.  The topics included how to ensure completion of the 2013 regular season due to all the rain-outs and how, if at all, should we restructure the playoffs in order to make sure that a League champion can be decided on the field prior to the start of the Region 3 tournament.

It was agreed that the regular season would be extended for an additional five days.  At the beginning of the season, the final day of regular season play was scheduled for Sunday, July 7, with the playoffs set to start on Wednesday, July 10.  Due to the amount of rain-outs, the League agreed to extend the regular season until Friday, July 12, with playoffs now starting on Saturday, July 13.  Roslyn, currently is scheduled to wrap-up regular season play on July 10.

The playoff model will not change, but the tournament will be shortened in order to ensure all games can be played.  It will still be a double elimination tournament.  The big difference in the tournament being that two teams will have to play two games on Day 2 of the tournament, and there will not be an off day.
