SJT Program Descriptions (Travel Teams-Camps-Clinics)

SJT Travel Program-

 

Purpose: Develop athletes through practices that will prepare them to compete against other travel teams. Give athletes the opportunity to play multiple positions and apply skills learned during practice. Teach athletes to excel in the four pillars of the game: physical-mental-technical and tactical.

 

Who is it for? The SJT Travel Program is ideal for athletes who desire or have participated in playing against higher levels of competition. Athletes who have played on school teams, AAU and  NJB  are encouraged to be a part of our SJT Travel Program. 

 

Duration: Year around. Spring/Summer (March- August) Fall-Winter (September-February)

Practice: 2, 90 minute practices a week for the duration of the season.

Games: SJT Seasons are comprised  of 6 to seven games per season. Which equates to about 28 tournaments per year; And over 84 games in a year!

 

 

SJT Camps-

 

Purpose: Focus on individual skill development with emphasis on teaching basketball specific techniques and skills. SJT Camps will develop the skillset of each player through demonstrations-team scrimmages- and player specific basketball activities.

 

Duration: 3 Days depending on age and experience of athletes.

Format: Training- 3 hours of training each day.

Development: The athlete will be exposed to all four pillars of the game throughout the camp: Physical, mental, technical, and tactical. Training sessions will revolve around individual development and gameplay through basketball related drills.

 

 

SJT Clinics-

Purpose: Basketball technique specific development, geared to give players tools on a specific aspect of there "game".

Duration: 1 day

Format: 2 hours of high level training.

Development: The athlete will be exposed to all four pillars of the game throughout the clinic: Physical, mental, technical, and tactical. Training sessions will revolve around specific individual player development and technique specific related drills.
