RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Bucs struck first in the game, but it was the Bombers who had the final say at the plate on Wednesday night in Pomona.

Dallas Burk had a solid start on the mound for the Bombers, retiring the Bucs in order in the top of the first with the help of a double play turned by Ryon Knowles.  The Bucs scratched a run across in the top of the second, but the Bombers quickly answered back.

Conner Shepherd and Cody White led off the bottom of the second inning with back-to-back singles.  As Cody white stole second, the throw from the catcher got past the infield, allowing Shepherd to score and tie the game at one.

After another quick inning from Burk, the Bombers came into the bottom of the third looking to take the lead.  Joey Magro singled to right to get things started, and Knowles followed up with a single of his own as he moved Magro to third.  A groundout from Jimmy Smith proved to be a productive out as Magro scored to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead.

Daniel Dominguez reached on an error in the bottom of the fourth and a single from Aaron Meers knocked him in.  Eric Mendez hit a slow chopper in the infield, which forced an error that allowed Meers to score.

The scoring continued in the bottom of the fifth and Shepherd took first on a hit by pitch.  White then came to the plate and crushed an opposite-field home run to right to extend the lead to 6-1.

The Bucs pushed a run across in the top of the sixth, but Burk held them to just that run as he struck out two in the inning.

The Bombers got that run back in the bottom of the sixth as Chris Sandberg led off the inning with a single to left.  Meers followed with a single up the middle and Mendez moved both into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt.  A sacrifice fly from Magro brought in Sandberg to add to the lead.

Ryan Arambula took over on the mound in the top of the seventh and allowed just a run in his two innings of work.

Dominguez got the bottom of the eighth started with a triple to center before Sandberg singled to knock him in.  He then stole second and a single from Magro knocked him in to stretch the lead to 9-3.

Adam Zellers came on in relief in the top of the ninth and struck out two to end the game.

With the win, Burk improves to 2-1 on the season as he went six innings while allowing just three hits with three strikeouts.

Magro, White, Sandberg and Meers each had two hits in the game.

The Bombers wrap up the season series with the IV Bucs on Thursday at Cal Poly Pomona at 7 p.m.
