BrewCrew Excel in Postseason Tournaments- 1st in MAWS, 2nd in USAB World Series, 3rd in York

The Baltimore BrewCrew, who finished in third place in the Susquehanna after an abbreviated scheduled went to participate in the Mid-Atlantic World Series, the York Colonial Labor Day Tournament, and U.S. Adult Baseball World Series. The BrewCrew once again excel in the tournaments over league play which has been their mantra over the last few years.

For at the second consecutive year, the Baltimore BrewCrew were champions of the Mid-Atlantic World Series.  They finished third place out of seven in pool play to advance to the double elimination round.  The BrewCrew took on the NY Hawks in the first round and won behind an offensive explosion behind homeruns by Dre Jones, Andrew Clow, Zach Nadolny and Kevin Baron.  Steve Cooke threw a complete game in the victory.  In the second round, the BrewCrew took on the Potomac Clementes and Cooke once again delivered, this time with a complete game shutout.  In the championship, the NY Hawks defeated the BrewCrew to force the if necessary game.  But due to darkness, both were named Co-Champions.

Two weeks later, the BrewCrew traveled to York, PA to compete in the York Colonial Labor Day Tournament for the first time since 2014.  The BrewCrew were able to win their first three games, including two wins by Steve Cooke.  Two close defeats in the 4th and 5th game knocked the BrewCrew out in third place out of sixteen.  Justin Anderson, Scott Merkel, and Zach Nadolny led the offense.

A little over a month later, the BrewCrew traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC to compete in the US Adult Baseball World Series, as did the Maryland Dodgers.  The BrewCrew finished 5-0 in their pool and the Dodgers finished 4-1 in their pool.  At 5-0, the BrewCrew moved to the semi-finals of the #1 Seed.  The Dodgers finished 4-1 but due to tiebreakers did not advance to the semis.  The BrewCrew defeated the Greensboro Yard Goats to advance to the championship.  The Cinderella run finally ended with defeat to Tampa Thunder, 10-9.  The BrewCrew had defeated the Thunder earlier in pool play.

Overall, it was an excellent tournament season for the Susquehanna League.  Between the teams, there were seven top three finishes in postseason tournaments.
