Unfinished Business Spring Jamboree Tounament Rules & Regulations

Zero Tolerance Policy

 

Unfinished Business Youth Sports Group has a Zero Tolerance Policy with regard to acts of violence, fighting or any kind of verbal or physical intimidation.  Any player, coach or team personnel involved in such acts, or receiving a technical foul for such acts, could be ejected from the contest and be asked to leave the tournament facility immediately or anytime thereafter.  Any tournament participant or fan exhibiting conduct unbecoming to the event, may be ejected from the tournament facility.  Any player, coach or team personnel ejected from the contest will be suspended for the team’s next contest.  The suspended player, coach or team personnel will not be allowed in the competing area of the team’s next contest.  Any player, coach, team personnel, tournament participant or fan ejected for acts of violence, fighting or any kind of verbal or physical intimidation could be banned from all future Unfinished Business Youth Sports Group events.

Furthermore, any player, coach or team personnel cited for acts of violence, fighting or verbal or physical intimidation could result in an entire team disqualification from the event and any future Unfinished Business Youth Sports Group events at the discretion of the tournament Director. 

If such persons do not comply as stated above, local authorities will be notified.

 

The team entry fee is $225.00 per club or organization.  Clubs or organizations with multiple teams have an entry fee of $200.00 per team.  All entry fees are due by April 19, 2018.

Tournament Team Entry Fee Includes:

 

 One Directors band per club or organization per tournament entry.

  Two coach’s bands per team will be provided per tournament entry.

 

Tournament Admission Fee (Includes All Locations):

  $10.00: Individual Weekend Pass

  $6.00: Individual Per Day

 $2.00: 8 Years and Under Per Day

 Free: Infants

Tournament Rules & Regulations

 

1.       The Official Operating Rules will be current AAU (including age/grade requirements) and National Federation of State High School rules with some exception below will apply.

2.       Teams are required to provide proof of age and grade in the event of a protest.  Should any team be unable to provide this information when requested, all games will be forfeited.

3.       Teams disqualified from tournament play or forfeits a game are not eligible for any type of refund.

4.       Due to tournament cost associated with team entry, no refund of any kind will be provided once the team is posted on the schedule.

5.       Tournament will provide an official clock and scorekeeper.

6.       Final team roster must be submitted to the tournament committee before the first game. No adding or deleting players after the first game.

7.       No player shall compete for more than one team during the tournament. If this rule is violated, all relevant games will be forfeited and will result in a loss for any team associated with this player.  If teams are seeking temporary substitutions for roster players who are in transit, please notify tournament officials.

8.     Team coaches/captains are the voice for their team and are responsible for their teams conduct.  If any player appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the tournament committee and game officials have the right to expel them from any game and/or tournament facility.  This rule be strictly enforced.

 

9.       Game Time & Time Outs:

·         Game Time = 28 Minutes, Two 14 Minute Halves, One 3 Minute Overtime

·         Time Outs = 3 Time Outs Per Game, 1 Time Out Per Overtime

o    The game clock will stop for time outs in 1 minute durations

o    Half time will run in duration of 5 minutes

·         Game Time will be continuous, except for the last two minutes of each halve and time outs.

·         Game Time = Forfeit Time; 5 minute grace period will be allowed.

o    The score of all forfeits will be 15-0.

Important Note:  Estimated game times will be provided in the bracket. Teams are asked to be in the competing area 30 to 45 minutes prior to game time to avoid forfeits and tournament delays.

·         Mercy Rule

o    If a team is ahead by 20 points or more in the second halve, the game clock will run continuously unless the score gets within 20 points.  If a team is ahead by 20 points or more in the second halve, the team is not allowed to full court press.

·         Tie Breaker

o    In any situation when teams are tied, the winning team will be determined in the following order:

1.       Head-To-Head competition between the teams

2.       Point Differential Tie-Breaker will be applied.  The point differentials of the teams involved in the tie are totaled.  The highest number placing first, the second highest placing second. (The maximum you can beat a team and still gain an advantage is 15 points.)

 

10.    Teams will be allowed 10 team fouls before entering the bonus.

11.    A technical foul will be assessed if the players’ number is not visible to the game officials or official scorekeeper.

12.    Teams cannot have any players that are currently playing or have played NCAA Division I or II college basketball within the last 4 years.  Teams violating this rule will be asked to reduce or change their team roster. Otherwise, the team will be eliminated from the tournament.

Coach Carter and UB Director and Coach Jennings named as Coaches in the 2018 Roundball Classic

Coach Carter and UB Director and Coach Jennings have been named to coach in their 3rd Roundball Classic. The event features some of the best coed local and regional talent. Good luck to all participants.


UB congratulates UB member, Raheem Wilson of North High for earning MVP honors in 2016 Classic

UB congratulates, UB student athlete and North High School senior Raheem White for earning MVP honors in the 2016 Roundball Classic, Shooting Star's Elite game held at Hub Arena, on March 26th, hosted by Buffalo Wild Wings and directed by Coach Dave Foltz!

This is one of the largest exposure events for those student athletes pursuing college interest and scholarship offers on the east coast.

We congratulate Raheem for his acclaimed honor and wish him well and all UB members in their college pursuits!


UB Director/Coach Carter presents MVP to Shekinah Mondua of Wise HS


UB's Coach Jennings and Coach Carter named to coach in the 2016 Roundball Classic held at Hub Arena on Friday March 25th.

Coach's XL National Team, led by game MVP, Shekinah Mondua of Wise HS paced our team to a 103-101 victory.

Both coaches were honored and appreciative to participate in one of the largest exposure events on the East Coast, that's meant to provide High School student athletes one last look by colleges to earn scholarship offers.

We congratulate the student athletes from both teams and wish them continued success in their journey to attend college through sports!
