Baseball: Franceski moving back to the city
Former Gaithersburg, MC-Germantown pitcher picks GW
by James Peters | Staff Writer

‘‘I think playing at Germantown helped me a lot,” Franceski said. ‘‘It helped me mature. I could have gone to a school down in Georgia [after high school]. I liked it a lot but I didn’t want to be that far away from my family. It was not something I wanted to do yet. I had a heck of a two years. It got me a lot of opportunities. I would definitely recommend junior college.”

Franceski, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hander, arrived at Montgomery College two years ago after spending three years at St. John’s as a pitcher/designated hitter. He finished his career at Gaithersburg High, where he garnered second-team All-Gazette honors, going 6-3 with a 2.94 ERA and 46 strikeouts, also smacking three home runs with 19 runs batted in.
