DEFENSIVE MASKS & BATTING HELMETS
UPDATE: I JUST PLACED THE ORDER FOR 50 MASKS AND 21 BATTING HELMETS. AS SOON AS IT ALL ARRIVES I WILL SEND OUT AN EMAIL LETTING EVERONE KNOW AND WE WILL WORK ON DISPURSEMENT. THANKS EVERYONE!
In an effort to keep costs down for our families we are doing a league order on Rip-It defensive masks and DeMarini Paradox batting helmets. To place your order click on the link on the right side of this page. The pictures below are the items available. There are many colors to choose from.
Defensive masks are now mandatory in the Crow River League for all players at 3B, 1B and pitchers. We are offering the Rip-It mask. They are available in youth and adult size. The cost of the mask is $35 (retail $50).
We are also offering the DeMarini Paradox Matt Batting Helmet with a fastpitch specific facemask for $35. They are available in three sizes: YOUTH (6 1/2 and under), SMALL/MEDIUM (6 5/8-7 1/8) and LARGE/X-LARGE (7-7 5/8).
Orders will be taken through March 4th and should arrive 7-10 days afterwards. There is no tax or shipping cost. Orders must be paid for prior to March 4. Unless there is a warranty issue these items are non-returnable.

*NEW* MANDATORY TRAINING FOR HEAD COACHES
This year all head coaches are required to complete Level #1 of the USA Softball A.C.E. Coaching Education program to include a background check. The cost of the program is $25 and will be reimbursed to you by your local association upon completion. This training is mandatory and must be completed by the coaches meeting on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

PRESEASON INFORMATIONAL DATES
All community registrations must be completed by Monday, April 9. Team registrations must be completed by Monday, April 16.
The 2018 coach meeting will at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 16th. We will meet at the Hutchinson Event Center.

12U Tier I: State Qualifier, June 29th-30th in Hutchinson, State Tournament, July 7th-8th Season Ending Tournament, July 28th OR 29th (in Hutchinson or Dassel)
14U Tier I: State Qualifier, July 13th-14th-15th in Howard Lake, State Tournament, July 21st-22nd
14U Tier II: State Qualifier, July 13th-14th-15th in Howard Lake, State Tournament, July 21st-22nd
16U & 18U (High School Division): State Tournament, July 21st-22nd
Fall player registration closes: July 31, 2018
Fall ball League play begins: Sunday, August 26, 2018

2018 Season Planning Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting on Wednesday. We had a lot of good discussion made some changes which I believe will make our league stronger. All items were voted on by the 11 communities present at the meeting with one community voting by proxy. Below are the changes for the 2018 season:
10U & 12U Tier II $240
12U Tier I $515 and they will keep the season ending tournament in addition to Qualifier and State
The season will begin on Monday, June 4, 2018
We will not schedule games on July 2, 2018
All head coaches will be required to complete the USA Softball A.C.E. training and background check by June 1, 2018.
Local associations will reimburse the coach the cost of the training and background check upon successful completion.
RULE CHANGE: 12U TIER I - May only play with three outfielders (4 players no longer are allowed)
RULE CHANGE: 12U TIER II - Stealing will be per the USA Softball rulebook. No limits or modifications.
RULE CHANGE: Defensive masks are mandated for pitchers,1B and 3B at all levels.
POLICY CHANGE: If a team earns a berth to the State tournament and does not utilize that berth, and the berth goes unused, the team will reimburse the league $105 for the berth.
2017 FALL BALL
Fall ball registration is now closed.
We have 195 kids playing ball on 17 teams!
All rosters are posted here and everyone should have received an email with the season information and roster.
Thanks to all of the parents and coaches for making this possible for our players. In 2016 we registered 98 and this year we have 195. Your dedication to this great game is appreciated.

2017 Season Information
Notes from the January 18, 2017 League Meeting
Communities present and voting at the meeting were: Watertown/Mayer, Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted, Dassel/Cokato, Litchfield, Brownton, Annandale, Norwood/Young America, Hutchinson.
12U Tier I: Will begin league play June 5th. They will play one complete round and have State Qualifier on June 24-25. Approximately half of the teams will qualifier for the USA State tournament on July 8-9th. League play will continue to the end of July with and conclude with a one day season ending tournament based on season standings. For this one season there will be increase in league fees for adding the additional tournament.
DOUBLE ROSTERED PLAYERS: Updated wording to read as follows "Each player may only participate in one State Qualifier and/or League Tournament. A player wanting to participate in more than one event much have prior approval from the League Director".
WAITE PARK: It was voted to allow Waite Park 12U teams to join our league. Waite Park is now following up with their parents to make a decision. Certain games with extensive driving distances (NYA, Brownton, Delano) will be played at a natural site (most likely Hutchinson). Those games my be scheduled on a Friday evening depending on how the schedule falls.
STATE QUALIFIERS & SEASON ENDING TOURNAMENT: State qualifier & season ending tournament hosts being considered are Litchfield, Howard Lake, Norwood & Hutchinson. If you community would like to be considered please email the Director.
FALL BALL: Fall ball will be offered through our league again. Information will be available in late June and player registrations will begin in early July. The season will begin approximately mid August.
LEAGUE FEES: League fees will remain unchanged. 10U & 12U Tier II = $240 & 12U Tier I, 14U, 16U & 18U = $390
