The 2012 Season has come to an end.
The 2012 Season for the Virginia City Youth Football team came to a close this past Thursday. The Youth Football team completed its first season as a new member of Division IV Southern Nevada Middle School Football League. The team ended with a record of 3-3, which gave them the 3 place finish in the league. The team would not have been able to have an outstanding first season without the support of the community, the Storey County School District, the Comstock Chronicle, the Storey County Sheriff's Office, Red's Candy, Comstock Mining, L. Lance Gilman and Fox Performance. Each of these supporters gave their support in many different ways and the team was grateful for it all.
The goal of the Virginia City Youth Football team is to allow our Elementary and Middle School kids to prepare themselves for a solid contribution to the Virginia City High School program. Along with the preparation for the field, a strong emphases of education and competing in the class room was a huge part of the team. All eligible youth are encouraged to join the team next year for the 2013 season.
