League will NOT TOLERATE Umpires being Cursed at/threatened or verbally Disrespected during or after games..

Only Coaches should speak to umpire about any call made. Unless you Know the actual Rule you are arguing about please do not attack umpire for a call that was made..Any

team (coach/player) Who threatens or Verbally Disrespects !Umpire will be suspended....<---(Team/Players)

If You have any situation(altercation) with Umpire or other team call Hector or Jim to report what happened. Anyone feels that they can or would like to Umpire please let us know. Umpire Classes will be next year. We've lost a lot of Umpires this year due to senseless arguing

Reading Fields Policy

All Reading Fields require teams to clean up after the games or we will no longer have use of the fields. The following steps must be taken.

1) Arrive at field – take pictures of player benches, spectator seating area and trash collection areas in the park.

2) Email fields@readingpa.gov prior to playing games.

3) Play softball games

4) Clean up after the game – remove all trash into trash collection areas or take trash with you in bags.

5) Repeat step 1 and 2 (take pictures of player benches, spectator seating area and trash collection areas in the park.)

6) Email fields@readingpa.gov after playing games.

7) There are NO Weapons of any kind (Guns/Knives) Allowed in dugout or on any field. Leave any weapons you may have in your vehicle. NO need for any weapons at field during a softball game(Suppose to be fun & Enjoyable game of competition) or at any sanctioned ASA/USA event.. Will NOT Be Tolerated by the League. Weapon Offenders will be Suspended from League

Above rules apply to Brookline, Schlegel Park, Baer Park, Pendora, 3^rd and Spruce, Engleman’s Park.

Muhlenberg League Rules & Info *(HOME TEAM)The team on the right is responsible for the following: (1) Calling other team and Jim Meals in case of rain -1 hour prior to game (2)Supplying the bases (3)Home team supplies bases(1st base Double bag) and plate Mat.. *Each HOME TEAM(1) Must Supply 1 new ball and 1 back up ball (2) Responsible for chasing fall balls/Homeruns and supplying additional balls if needed (3) Official scorer for that game *Rosters (1) 25 man roster turned in by APRIL 21ST (2) Last date of addition or deletion of players is JUNE 15TH (3) If a Player quits and wants to sign with another team has to wait One week or 2 games AFTER THE NOTIFICATION OF ROSTER CHANGE TO LEAGUE ROSTER CHAIRMAN. (4)Manager cuts player and he wants to sign with another team has to wait one week (5) New players can play the following Sunday after notification to the League Roster Chairman *Rules (1)Teams can play with 9 players,no out will be charged If only playing with 9.Team has to tell ump & other team if 10th player is coming late before game starts then 10th player spot will be AN OUT!!! til he arrives. (2) 12 run rule after 5 Innings (3) League follows illegal bat rule listed on USA website (4) Balls are .52 core // Dudley softballs USA/ASA only (5) Homerun rule at fenced field is each team can have 4 homeruns per game. All others will be outs after.. (6) Umpires for each week $36 per team (Each team pays half fee per game 2 x $18.00 = $36 each per team for umpires)

..*Field Rules(1) Jim Dietrich PARk: Park in the Parking lot for all games. DO NOT PARK or Drive any Vehichle on the Walkway.. (2) Temple Park: MTAA may have field after 1:00 - If they are at the field, league must defer and game will be added to the rainout schedule. DO NOT PARK AT HYDRANT NEAR TEMPLE FIELD COPS WILL BE CALLED 4Teams will need to keep the score book information. Game will resume from the point the game was stopped. L(2a)TEMPLE Field if Ball hits trees in Left Center/Center field in air its playable .If ball rolls under bushy trees in left field it's a Groundrule Double. If Ball hits wires in Right field and goes over fence it's a Homerun,if Ball hits wire & lands in grass it's ground rule Double..Any ball hit through gap of trees or over trees & goes into tennis court it's a HOMERUN....

.(3)Brookline: If Ball rolls into the high grass in left field line near foul line its a ground rule double - from left field edge of high grass to tree in right center field is open. If Ball hits grass and rolls into street it's a Ground rule Double..

BROOKLINE: If Ball hits Tree & goes Through the Tree or Over Tree & lands in Street it's a HOMERUN. 4 HR Rule then outs. Any ball that hits grass in Right Field and rolls downhill into Street is a Ground Rule Double. If Ball hits any part of tree in Right field and lands in fair territory its a - GROUND RULE DOUBLE

(4) Schlegel Park: New Rule: Right Field slope part of hill is live & players can make defensive plays for outs on the slope of hill not on top . Any ball that is hit on top of hill can't be caught for an out, it's a Homerun...4 Homeruns on hill then they are Outs( fence HR rule) From the Rock to the 2nd tree on right field hill is HR.. Right of the tree on right side of hill to foul pole is a live ball. If Ball hits rock in.the air its ground rule Double..

Also No fielder can stand on top of hill to field any fly balls. Any ball hit into parking lot pass poles is a HOMERUN(4 base award)

5) Pendora Park: If Ball hits outfield wall in left field in air or lands on hill in Left field Its A Homerun . Everything else in fair territory is live ball. 6)Jim Dietrich Park: Open field

:*Courtesy Runner Rule: One Courtesy Runner per Inning(Any Player). If team uses a player who is in the game to be courtesy runner and his/her turn to hit comes up,his/her At bat is an OUT. New rule:Courtesy Runner for pitcher as soon as he/she gets on base. COURTESY RUNNER FOR PITCHER. Pitcher courtesy all game even if team Bats around (1) If teams starts game with 10-12 players and loses a player due to Injury or player has to leave,that players spot in Lineup is an OUT..6 ft Pitching box will be used again this year..(box setup before game) Pitcher must come to a complete stop before pitch can be thrown.. 2023 New Rule..Upper Playoffs ..Higher Seed Chooses Field for Playoffs Games...
