REGISTRATION LIMITS:  Limits on registration are on a by-grade boy/girl basis.  Once capacity has been reached within a grade for either boys or girls, registration within that group will close and potentially a waiting list created.  Updates will be posted on this site.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

  • Youth Clinic.   Participants are divided into the following groups: (1) Pre-K/K; (2) 1st/2nd Grade Girls; and (3) 1st/2nd Grade Boys.  Each group will have a dedicated one-hour session on Saturday mornings in January and February during which "team" coaches instructs on basketball skills followed by an intra-squad scrimmage.
  • 3rd Graders.   All 3rd graders will practice once per week starting in mid-November.  Although a final practice schedule won't be finalized until late-October, 3rd graders usually practice on Wednesday nights, 6:00-7:30, at either Immaculate Conception or Loyola Blakefield.  Parents will hear directly from their child's coach with more information about the start of practice.
  • 4th to 8th Graders.  4th through 8th graders practice twice weekly on weeknights beginning in early-November; practices are held at either Immaculate Conception, Loyola Blakefield, or Calvert Hall and last either an hour or an hour-and-a-half.  Ordinarily, 4th and 5th grade practices start at 6:00, 7th and 8th grade start at either 7:00 or 7:30, and 6th grade starts at either 6:00, 7:00 or 7:30.  The practice schedule will not be finalized until late-October.  Parents will hear directly from their child's coach with more information about the start of practice.

GAME SCHEDULE:

  • 3rd Graders.  3rd graders play in an informal instructional league composed of teams from other local parishes.  Games are on Sunday afternoons starting in December.  The game schedule is usually finalized around Thanksgiving and sent to parents by their child's coach.
  • 4th to 8th Graders, CYO Leagues.   Each team will be registered in a CYO league that will have a dedicated location for game play; a league plays on either Saturdays or Sundays.  For instance, 4th and 5th grade boys ordinarily play in a league hosted by Immaculate Conception that has games on Saturday afternoons and evening.  Other parishes that host leagues are Sacred Heart Glyndon, St. Ursula, St. Mark, St. Agnes, Cathedral, among others.  League schedules are unsually published the week before Thanksgiving and most leagues start play the first weekend of December.  Parents will receive schedules, which will include location and the day/time of games, directly from their child's coach.  There are additionally in-season tournaments (4th-8th grade teams) for which we have traditionally registered teams and give the kids additional opportunities to play throughout the season:  The Msgr Lynch Tournament (held the week after Christmas), The St. Joseph Cockeysville President's Day Tournament (Friday evening through President's Day Monday), and St. Ursula's Al Hahn Memorial Tournament (beginning in late February).  Your child's coach will provide additional details about registrations for these tournaments.
