STAFF/INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM: The 2009 JPII Baseball camp will be led by JPII Head Coach, Michael Brown and assistant coaches Randy Darnell, Jacob Oldham, Matthew Franklin, Kip Brown and John Dempsey as well as current and former players and guest instructors. The JPII Baseball Camp will provide an intense learning environment for advanced players and a basic fundamental environment for younger players designed to improve the fundamental skills necessary to become a better all-around player. Campers will be divided by age group and ability level for appropriate instruction. Instruction will include fundamental drills, proper practice techniques, and mental approach to the game. Specific instruction will be given on hitting, pitching, catching, position specific fundamentals, fielding, throwing, and base running. Skills and techniques will be improved through individual and small group instruction, drills, and game experience. Instruction will cover all aspects of baseball.
FACILITIES: The JP II Baseball Camp will be conducted at the beautiful baseball field at Pope John Paul II High school. Other on campus fields will be used to allow for a low instructor/camper ratio. Games are supervised by our coaches who teach and review proper play techniques. Games are played each day and are a great opportunity for students to incorporate the techniques they have been taught to improve their confidence in their abilities on the beautiful turf at JPII.
