Youth Sports - Volunteerism

Parents, coaches and fans... PLEASE remember that our program (D89 Basketball) is 100% volunteer.  And all the volunteers are your neighbors, your friends, or your student's classmates families. That includes all coaches, refs and coordinators. And hopefully will include you!

Every year, we have a few parents and coaches that lose sight of this at times.  Without the support of each and every volunteer, this prorgram would not run as effecitvely or nicely as it does.  And this program is something special... not many programs like this exist anywhere.

Frank Martin, who is a Division 1 basketball coach summarizes this pretty well.  Please give it a watch and keep it in mind.

He mentions getting paid $10 or $20 a game...  but for D89BL, our refs and coaches are all doing this to better our community.  For free.  Please do not give them a hard time.

And we'd love to have you come help us, especially if you can help us make it better!

Thank you.  And thank you to all the volunteers!
