U16 Program Update for 2013-2014 Season
Based in Bartlett, New Hampshire at the Attitash Mountain Resort, the Attitash Race Team has been developing and fostering the growth of alpine ski racers in the U16, U14, U12, and U10 age groups for more than 25 years. As part of the New Hampshire Alpine Racing Association, we compete in local and state-wide racing events, with numerous members advancing to regional and national events.
AAEF is looking forward for the return of the U16 team for the 2013-2014 season. There’s a great group of athletes moving up from the U14’s, and we can’t wait to see them train and compete at the U16 level. The team will support all NHARA U16 events including the Qualifying Series (SG, GS and SL for both boys and girls) and the NH State Finals. The team will also support any athletes that get promoted to the Eastern U16 Championships, Eastern U16 Finals, and any races beyond that should an athlete qualify. Finally, the team will also support some selected "open" or "scored" races in the Tecnica/Macomber/LaFoley series races; races TBD.

Training will take place primarily at Attitash, however, with the joint Attitash/Wildcat passes, we expect to cooperate with the Wildcat U16 program on shared training venues throughout the season. When possible, the team may also coordinate with the MWV Ski Team on shared training venues.
The team expects to have at least 2 full time U16 coaches with 1 to 2 part-time coaches available during the season. Currently Taryn Palmer is expected to return as a full-time coach and Kevin Clarke as a part-time coach. Coaching hires will be announced as they are made. As there are many U16 race options during the course of the season, many of which conflict (i.e. boys and girls racing on the same day but at different venues), it’s likely we will share race-day coaching duties with the Wildcat U16 program.
The season will start the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. The end of the season will be determined by the race schedule. Tuition for the U16 program will be $1,250. An Attitash JR/YA season pass must be purchased as well. The price of this pass is $399 if purchased prior to June 1. The price increases to $499 after June 1.
