Congratulations to all of our 51 teams in the APRD Youth Basketball League. Everyone had an awesome season and we hope all of our participants had a great time. The post season tournament is over and 2012 season is in the books! We would like to shout out all of the teams who made it to the championship and extend a big congratulations to our tournament champions. Kennesaw Elite Nike AAU Team
Tryouts for the 11U and 12U Boys Kennesaw Elite Nike AAU Teams will be held soon! The AAU season extends through the Spring and Summer months. For team information and tryout dates, visit the Kennesaw Elite Nike travel team website at www.kennesawelite.com.
NBA Skills Competition
The NBA Dribble, Dish, and Swish Competition hosted by the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department was held in late October. This free skills challenge provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 12, the opportunity to showcase their basketball abilities. Winners have the potential to advance through four levels of competition, including the Team Championship at Philips Arena and the National Finals at the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend!
Congratulations to Devianna and Vinny Loccisano for advancing to the Team Championship at Philips Arena! Both participants competed in the team championship round on Sunday, Dec. 4th and are now awaiting to see if will have an opportunity to complete nationally.
