The A&M Steelers Y.S.A. youth program provides recreational and competitive opportunities for boys and girls in Flag football. Whether a player views flag footballl as a new sport to learn, as a way to have fun with friends, or as a path to our tackle football program. The AMYSA youth program has something for them. Foremost, the goal of the AMYSA youth program is to help aspiring young athletes learn a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime in a positive, safe, and supportive environment

Each team consist of 10 players.
7on7 NFL Play 60 Rules apply
All players must play rule in effect.
The league will provide field markers, Game Flags and Game jerseys
Coach's will request shorts of team color shorts.

Mouth Guards are manditory
Appropriate footwear includes football / rubber cleats (no metal)
ALL participants will receive an AMYSA participation award.
Winning Coach's will receive AMYSA Championship Trophy.
AMYSA uses UIL experened trained referees to ensure the highest level of professionalism

To promote the value of participation in youth football as a wholesome environment for the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment, and the spirit of community and teamwork.
2014 DIVSIONS OF PLAY
FLAG AGES 5-6 AS OF Aug 1st 2014
This is a competitive flag league, all participants must be able to follow directions and pay attention. Practices are two days a week during the season.
SOPHOMORE AGES 7-8 as of Aug 1st 2014
This division is designed for the first and second year players, teaching the fundamentals of tackle football. Players compete against each other for starting positions and playing time on the team. Max 25 players on this team to ensure playing time for all. This team will compete against teams in our league for a playoff birth. Your child must be able to pay attention.
JUNIORS AGES 9-10 as of Aug 1st 2014
This is a very competitive division, players must have football knowledge, [first year players are welcome] Players compete for starting positions and playing time on the field. The players call their own plays on offense and defense. This team will compete against ther teams in our league for a playoff birth.
SENIOR AGES 11-12 as of Aug 1st 2014
This is the last division of youth football before kids advance to Jr High School. Players compete at a high level of play. Some middle school players are allowed to compete in this division, if they meet the age requirement before Aug 1, 2014.
All participants encouraged to participate in our spring flag football league.Track team and our skill camp in June.

Steelers Conditioning Camps in June
Position camps are held in June in full gear. Players compete for skilled positions. Players are required to attend.
