Welcome to the home of the

Bayonne Little League

Bayonne Little League has decided to do something different for the fall season this year.  Baseball competes with Football, Basketball, Soccer and the beginning of the school year every fall making the number of teams much smaller than normal.  Charging parents money for a short season with only a handful of teams seems unfair.  So we have decided to host a number of free clinics over the fall for those interested.  Our first scheduled clinic is called Fungomania.  John Murray and the coaches of LL will be hosting Fungomania on Monday and Thursday nights from 6p to 7p.  Monday nights will focus on IF work and Thursday will be OF work.  These will be fast-paced nights where the kids, ages 7 to 14, will field a ton of balls for an hour for free!  It will run from 9/7 to 10/5

We have also been in contact with the head coaches of both Bayonne High School and Marist and they have agreed to do additional clinics at LL so please monitor this website as well as our FB page

Please read up on the new standards for baseball bats. Both Little League International and Cal Ripken have agreed to go away from the 1.15 stamp to the USA Baseball stamp.  Do not go out and break the bank on a bat this year since it might not be good next season

Thanks to some dedicated coaches we will have a summer baseball program.  The games will be played on Monday and Thursday nights.  It is for league age 7 to 14 and will run until the end of July.  Please stop in the office of you wish to sign up

WORK IS COMPLETE

The Bayonne Little League 2015 season is underway and if you have not stopped down to see the changes you need to!  Over the past five months we have made massive changes to both the facility and the programs.  Both of our fields were in great shape, but our facility was showing its age (65 years old) so it was decided to make the investment necessary to keep the place going another 65.  All of the old blacktop was removed, as well as the batting cages and the old rusting container boxes we had been using to store equipment.  The project took over five months but we are happy to say the place has been transformed into a incredible place to play baseball.  The new blacktop is down and looks fantastic.  We now have 5 batting cages for both baseball and softball with pitching machines or L screens.  In the grove there are 3 pitching mounds so pitchers can work from 46, 50, and 60 feet.  Our concessions stand has a new, revamped menu offering more choices then ever before.  In place of the rusted out container boxes we now have 3 new storage sheds for all of the leagues gear.

Another change facing the league was the age change being pushed by Little League nation wide.  This new rule would have no effect on girls softball but changes would be necessary to the baseball program.  So now Bayonne Little League went to more age appropriate groupings and re-drafted the entire league.  We now have 5 divisions in the baseball program running from ages 5 to 14.  The divisions are:  Instructional (ages 5-6), Minors (ages 7-8), Majors (ages 9-10), Intermediate 50/70 (ages 11-12) and Junior League - Pony (ages 13-14).   These changes are new to all of us but we believe they will ensure the continued success of our league.  The Intermediate Division is completely new to our league but the push to a bigger field for the 11-12 group has been taking place nationally for quite some time.  We purchased a removable fence for the Pony field and our league can now handle games for 46/60, 50/70 and 56/80 (Pony).

If you have a child that wants to play either Baseball or Softball we would ask you to stop down to the best fields in Hudson County at 1st St, and entrust us to make their playing experience the best it could be.
