A special day today in the Division of Recreation Young Children's Program as City Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski read "Not Norman: A Goldfish Story" to all the students as part of JUMPSTART'S READ FOR RHE RECORD.

Mrs. Nadrowski also participated in an activity and enjoyed a delicious snack!

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® is a global campaign which generates public support for high-quality early learning by mobilizing millions of children and adults to take part in the world's largest shared reading experience. On October 22, 2015, Jumpstart celebrates the 10th anniversary of Read for the Record with the campaign book, Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, written by Kelly Bennett and illustrated by Noah Z. Jones.


 

 

 

 

Friday, October 16, 2015 -The Division of Recreation Bocce League held their annual end of season awards dinner and dance at Chris' Corner.   Congratulations to all the winners and all the participants on another great season! 


 

 

Saturday, October 17, 2015 - An amazing day for the Division of Recreation Special Needs Soccer Academy! Players and families took a trip to Jaroshak Field in Jersey City to participate in drills with the St.Peter's Women's Soccer team! Players also were given a special introduction with the team before the start of the game! A very big thank you to Head Coach Rob Bielan for all his enthusiasm and assistance! A special thank you to all the players from St. Peter's for giving the players an amazing experience!


 

 

October 14, 2015 - "Bayonne's Bravest" visited Mrs. Donna's 3 year old am class of the Division of Recreation Young Children's Program this morning! Students learned about fire safety and were able to hold the fire hose!


 

 

"Bayonne's Bravest" visited Ms. Edie's class of the Division of Recreation Young Children's Program! Students learned about fire safety and were able to sit in the fire truck!


 

The Division of Recreation Special Needs Soccer Academy!


 

The Division of Recreation Buddy Baseball Program on the field at Yankee Stadium! The New York Yankees honored the Buddy Baseball Program before their game against the Toronto Blue Jays on August 8, 2015.  A special thank you to Bayonne native and Director of Community Relations for the Yankees, Rocky Halsey. 

MV Hammers, the 2015 Co-Ed Softball Champions! It is back-to-back title for MV Hammers!

On The Rocks! The 2015 Sr. Women's Softball Champions! It is the 3rd straight title for OTR!

 

The Buddy Baseball concluded the season with a pool party and awards ceremony! A great end to a great season!

 

The Wolverines, the 2015 Division of Recreation Men's Summer Basketball Champions!

 

The Sandlot Baseball Camp concluded on July 31st.  Campers enjoyed learning the fundamentals of baseball in a safe, fun atmosphere!

 

The Division of Recreation and US Sports Institute Lacrosse Program at Gorman Field in July. The Fall Program begins September 15th!
