LI Cup Opening Weekend Postponed One Week, League Week 1 Rescheduled [ Mar 05, 2014 ]

It has been a terrible winter weather-wise, and numerous clubs have notified the league that their fields will not be ready for the opening weekend of LIJSL LI Cup games. As we get closer to the opening weekend, we expect more and more clubs to notify us that their fields are unplayable.

Therefore, we WILL NOT open the season on the weekend of March 15-16. All LI Cup games scheduled to be played that weekend will be played on the following weekend March 22-23. The games will be played at the same time and field as scheduled for the original date. (For instance your Saturday, March 15 game is scheduled for 10:00 am on field 2, you will play this game on Saturday, March 22 at 10:00 am on field 2)

League Week One, scheduled for March 22-23, will move to League Week 10, which falls on June 14-15. They will be played at the same time and field they are scheduled for on March 22-23. (For instance your Saturday, March 22 game is scheduled for 11:15 am on field 3, you will play this game on Saturday, June 14 at 11:15 am on field 3)

For any team that has a Week 10 game scheduled to be played on June 14-15, these games will now be rescheduled. It is the responsibility of the home coach to reschedule the game with the opposing coach. Please try not to schedule these games on weekends that you might also have state cup or LI Cup games (if you advance). If the opposing team is close in distance, once it gets warmer and lighter you could look to schedule them on a week night.

The above notice only applies to the LIJSL LI Cup and League Games. It does not apply to ENY State Cup, ENY Premier League, Region 1 or Northeast Regional Premier league games. It is up to those organizations to notify you of any schedule changes or cancellations.

Club History and Mission Statement

It is of the utmost importance to all of us in the Bay Shore Soccer Club that we all remember the game of soccer is for the enjoyment of our children. We are all here to have fun, build new friendships and learn the great sport of soccer.
The Bay Shore Soccer Club has been part of the Long Island Junior Soccer League since 1977. As with other clubs, our year consists of both a spring and a fall season. The club averages between 500 and 700 participants each season ranging in age from 4 to 19 years. Many of our players have continued on to travel soccer, ultimately leading to successfully competing at high school and college levels. We take great pride in our program and the impact it has within our community.

Playing soccer affords its participants the ability to master new skills, make new friends and actively maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fun is simply the byproduct of our wonderful program.

We are thrilled to continue the tradition of providing our community with an organization that benefits all of our children.

Miscellaneous Information

Parking: Parking at the Middle School has always been an issue. To prevent any possible accidents and to offer quick access to emergency vehicles, there will be no parking along the curb outside designated parking stalls. Please obey the rules. This is a safety issue and there will be no exceptions.

Garbage: Help us keep our fields clean. If you see garbage please stop and pick it up. If your child's coach assigns you to bring oranges and water to the field, please consider it your responsibility to bring the garbage bag home to be disposed of. The school does not have outside custodial staff on the weekends. The waste receptacles are not at our disposal. Therefore, it is your responsibility to keep the fields free of trash and debris.

Port-o-potties: We have contracted with a local company to supply us with two (2) port-o-potties for all Saturday and Sunday games.
