Welcome to the home of the

Brockton Blazers Softball

News

Hey Blazers-

Just a reminder that next Wednesday, May 16 is BYSL Day at Brockton High.

Our Lady Boxers will be taking on New Bedford High School at 4pm on the front fields (Belmont St side) at BHS.

Come support the girls who were so kind to join us on Opening Day and work with our juniors.

Let's cheer them on and show our younger players how the big girls play 🙂

See you at the fields.

The Spring Season is upon us, and our girls will swing into action this week.

New fencing is up on both larger fields, and we are ready to go.

Huge "thank you" to all of the coaches and board members who have logged many hours over the past two weekends to put up the new fencing, improve the field conditions, and trim back bushes and trees that have been impeding on our fields.

Please go to the Schedules section of the website for the most up-to-date calendar, and sort by your team name.

Join us for WINTER CLINICS

Hey Blazers,

It's cold outside, so it's time to take it inside for winter clinics!

Winter clinics are for girls under 12, and geared to working on basic skills - throwing, catching, fielding, hitting. We are lucky enough to have Brockton HS softball coach Katie Balboni once again teaching our girls. Clinics will take place every Tuesday from 6:30 - 7:30pm at the Baker School in Brockton. Clinics start TUESDAY, 1/16, and run for six weeks, with the last clinic on Tuesday, 2/27. Cost is only $60.

Advance registration is not required for the winter clinics. Just come on Tuesday, 1/16 and we will register all attendees starting at 6pm.

Any questions, please contact us at brocktonblazerssoftball@gmail.com.

Fall Ball

Brockton Blazers will soon swing back into action with Fall Ball, a no stress, fun league that starts in September.

Games begin on September 10. Please be on the look-out next week for a call from a coach, if you have already registered.

We are still looking for a few more girls to join both 10U and the Seniors (14U/16U) teams. Registration will remain closed for the 12U team.

The season will run for six weeks, with double-headers every Sunday. Games are back-to-back at one location. The season will end with a tournament-style playoff the weekend of October 20-21. There will be no games on Columbus Day weekend. Fall Ball operates similar to spring rec play, where girls are encouraged to try different positions and the focus is on player development and fun.

If you have any questions about fall ball, please email us at brocktonblazerssoftball@gmail.com.

Congratulations for a great Summer Season!

BYSL had three teams in action this summer - U10, U12 and U14.

Thank you to everyone who participated.

Our 10's learned a lot of skills that will help them become the Blazers of the future but fell just short of making the playoffs. Thank you to coaches Rob Delano and Nicole Fannoney.

Our 12's, under the leadership of Bill Bertocchi, made it all of the way to the championship game, falling JUST short of the win. Not too shabby, girls. Way to represent Brockton well!

Our 14's also made it into the play-offs, finishing as the third seed in the division, and losing by ONE run to Hanover in the semi-finals. Thank you to coach Cheryl Green. The girls had fun and played well as a team.

We are proud of all our girls!
