Canal Little League Lightning Policy -
Canal Little League and Little League International take Lightning Safety Seriously.   The league policy is as follows:
1.  Games will be halted and fields cleared if lightning strikes are detected within 10 miles of the playing fields (Glasgow, DE).  The league has chosen to use the WeatherBug application (approved by LLI) for this determination.
2.  Players will not be allowed back on the field until detected lightning strikes have been >10 miles for 30 minutes.
3.  Whenever possible, players shall use hardened structures or vehicles when waiting for play to resume.  Dugouts should only be used as a waiting area if hardened structures or vehicles are not available.
The above policy describes the minimum safety precautions to be taken regarding storms.  At any time, the umpire in charge (applicable divisions) or managers/coaches (non officiated games) may elect a more restrictive policy in the best interests of personal safety.
As Canal Little League Baseball Players grow older, they will get stronger, faster and more talented.  While Home Runs at the Majors level and above are certainly a great accomplishment, there are few things better than your first round-tripper at the Minor B level.   Here are the members of the 2016 'Minor B Home Run Club' -
Carter Schurman
Chris DiMaio
Matthew Saccullo
Doron Griffin
Landon Marley
Logan Waynick
Jacob Hall
Max Phipps
Bobby Joe Pennington

Canal Little League has had a great working relationship throughout the years with St. Daniels at the entrance to our complex off of Glasgow Ave..  We ask all our families and visitors to our complex to please not park in areas directly adjacent to the church to allow access for their services and activities.  Thank you.
