*****  Volunteer help requested  *****

While detailed plans are being developed and implemented to ensure a successful season, two areas which require additional volunteers are umpiring and concessions.

Umpiring -  We are looking for volunteer umpires in our baseball and softball 9 -12 year old divisions (Major and Minor A).  We have a few 'core' umpires who are willing to train new volunteers and help ease the burden on current managers and coaches.  Anyone interested in learning or assisting please contact Greg Hamrick, Umpire in Chief.

Concessions -  We have two concession stands on our complex which require day to day operation and supervision.  We are forming a commitee to help coordinate all these efforts and are asking for your help.  Anyone interested in assisting please contact Stephen Brady, concessions commitee chairman.

NEW: Little League has adopted new age brackets for baseball and softball for the 2015 season.

Canal Families,
On May 5, 2014 the Canal Little League received the news that Shane Higgins, a junior baseball player and son of our league president, was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia).  We ask that you keep Shane and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he begins his battle with cancer.
In the coming weeks and months we will be organizing several events/items for sale which will be used to help support his heavy medical expenses. For those who wish to keep track of his progress or send him words of support and encouragement, a website for him has been set up at  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shanehiggins. Also, check out the "Shane's Page" link on the main menu of this site to get more details on other efforts!

 ----------------------------------------

We need everyone's help in keeping our complex as clean as possible.  Lined trash cans are available on both sidelines of most of our fields.  Teams should be changing these bags after every game and bringing trash to one of the dumpsters on site.  We do not have a service that comes in and cleans our site so we ask that you please take a moment after every visit to ensure our common areas are trash free.  Thank you.

Safety of our players and families is Canal Little League's top priority.

As a reminder, the following rules apply to the Canal Little League complex:

1.  No smoking

2.  No pets

3.  Batting Helmets must be worn in the batting cages at all times

4.  Speed limit for the complex is 5 MPH.

The 2015 Canal Little League Board, Parents, and Players would like to the thank this year's sponsors to provide support for the terrific kids in our community.  If you would like your business to join this growing list for the 2015 Canal Little League Baseball and Softball season, please contact   Jeff Herbert at   jeff@herbertstudios.com  To download the sponsorship form and material, click HERE
