Tryouts for the CVHS girls tennis team will be from 9 to 11 AM July 16-19 at the Capo courts.
Because there are a limited number of positions available on the teams, cuts will begin on the first day of tryouts and proceed throughout the tryout period. 

Please be sure your athletic physical forms are completed BEFORE the first day of tryouts and submitted to the CVHS Activities Office.  
The athletic clearance packet for fall athletes is due by June 1.

Current JV players must try out again.  Varsity players are not required to attend tryouts. 

Students trying out for CVHS tennis teams should have intermediate to advanced skills in tennis.  
At a minimum, players should be able to:

•	Run a mile in 7 minutes or less 
•	Demonstrate consistent serves with a minimum of 50% accuracy 
•	Understand game scoring and tie-break scoring 
•	Show the ability to volley at the net and hit overhead 
•	Understand doubles formations and strategy  
•	Sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability (at least 10 balls hit back and forth) 

In addition, all players trying out for the team are encouraged to have USTA tournament experience at the Junior Satellite or Open level.
