5/6 Team Wins TSE February Tournament
February 21, 2009 The Churchville-Chili Boys 5/6 select team won the TSE February Tournament. The boys ended with a 4 and 1 record with their only loss to Victor in the first game. Even that game was well played until the final 1:30 when Victor went ahead to stay (6-8). They came back with a sound effort against Greece (8-3) and an exciting last second victory against Pittsford (7-6) to end the pool play in second place. The boys showed no slowing down in the first play-off game against the Fairport/Gananda lead FCA team. The solid defense from the entire team provided a 9-5 victory. Hilton's victory over Victor in the other game set-up a westside show down in the Championship game. C-C went up 3-0 immediately only to see Hilton tie the score at 3-3. After that it was back and forth until our team scored with less than one minute left for the 8-7 victory and tournament championship! Congratulations again to the 5/6 tournament team.

A special thank you goes out to Ray Brown for organizing this fun event for the kids (and parents)!

Alumni Game Brings Out Many Former Players
December 31, 2008 The Second Annual Alumni game was a great success with 18 former Churchville-Chili players straping on the pads one more time to play against some current team members. The Alumni represented all of the former CC teams, dating back to the first varsity team that played in 2005. The "young guns" were able to hold on for a one goal victory against the "old timers". It was a great event giving former teammates and parents a chance to reminisce and catch-up with each other. We look forward to continuing to build on this tradition in years to come. Thank you to all who participated and made this event possible.

Please check out more photos of the event in the Photo Albums.

Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club Teams Participate in Turkeyshoot!
On Sunday, November 9, fifteen (15) boys represented the Churchville Lacrosse Club successfully at the Turkeyshoot Tournament held at TSE. Thirteen Churchville and two Hilton players combined against competition as far away as Albany. The boys started slow, dropping their first game 8-7 to a 3-1 team (Barrie) from Canada. The Barrie team's 1 loss was to the eventual tournament champion Oshawa2 also from Canada. Closing strong, the team recorded 13-2, 8-6 and 9-5 victories to close the contest at 3-1.

Playing with only eight boys from last year's varsity roster, Churchville managed very competitive play. Varsity newcomers Nick Bruno and Jay Vogler(defense), Nick Gray(midfield) and Kevin Widzinski(attack) played a big role in supporting the returning Varsity players. Attackmen Ryan Yunker and Jon Hemink worked closely with a much improved Alex Pavone on attack while the team's only Senior (Keith Preston) managed most of the face-off duty and gathered many ground balls. Returning midfielders Zach Yehl and Taylor Kolmer contributed with strong defensive play plus a couple of goals. The defense was anchored by Alex Wezelis and Dan Fingland who played with an injury (Thanks Dan!).

A special "Thanks" to the two players from Hilton, Eriche Weishmeyer in Goal and Kyle Youngman at midfield. Both played very well with the team and the Club wishes them well in their 2009 season.

The Club starts league play at TSE on Monday, November 17. The next Varsity tournament is scheduled for January 2nd @ Sahlen's Sportspark in Buffalo. A select Varsity team will be invited to participate in this event.

Churchville Chili Lacrosse Club also had a team participate at the 5/6 level. A write-up will follow.
