Pitching:  Cameron Flinn pitched well the first 2 innings but ran into trouble in the third.  Flinn was responsible for 4 runs. Kolbey Harbaugh pitched the middle innings and was responsible for 2 runs.  Chance McClure picked up the win by pitching a scoreless 7th and 8th inning.  Only one baserunner reached base on McClure and that was due to a Trojan error.  Chance promptly picked him off of first base during the next at bat.

Hitting:  The Trojans collected 8 hits.  Doubles were hit by Brady Hunt, Austin Suders,Austin Wilson, and Tanner Amsley.

Trojans Come Up Short in Comeback Bid

March 29, 2014

The Central Dauphin Rams held of the surging Trojans in the late innings of Thursday's chilly game to secure the win. Read about it here.

JV Trojans get their first win on a Cold Night @ Central Dauphin

On a cold night at Central Dauphin, the JV Trojans got their first win 9-7.  It was a total team effort.  The teamwork started on the mound. It took four Trojan pitchers (Harbaugh, Byers, Wilson, and Flinn) to complete the game.  Cameron Flinn picked up the win.  The Trojans bats put pressure on CD all night.

The game started great in the early innings with a 6-0 lead after the top of the third.  However CD fought back and got the score to 6-4 and from there it was close the rest of the way.  With the score tied at 7, the Trojans were able to load the bases in the top of the 7th and push across 2 runs.  With a 9-7 lead, Cameron Flinn was able to finish of CD in the bottom of the 7th..

Of note:  Flinn had a little help finishing off CD.  The play of the game game in the bottom of the 7th with a man on first and two out.  A sinking line drive was hit over the second baseman's (Chance McClure) head.  It had single written all over it.  Chance went back and at the last minute dove and caught the ball right before he hit the ground. It was game over and the first win of the year.

Great game Trojans!!!

Next game: Friday vs. Carlisle.  Starting on the mound will be Austin Suders.

Trojans Earn Comeback Win to Open Season

March 22, 2014

The Varsity squad took the field on Friday afternoon against local rival Waynesboro. They picked up a quality, comeback win in the opener. Read about it here.

Chambersburg third baseman Colby Dice throws out Waynesboro runner Sawyer Duffey at first base during their game Friday at Greene Township Park. The

JV Trojans come up short in opener

The JV team started out great taking a 4-2 lead after 2 innings.  However, they couldn't hang on as Waynesboro squeaked out a 5-4 win.

Cameron Flinn, Austin Suders, and Austin Wilson pitched well!! Suders was the victim of a few timely Waynesboro hits and picked up the loss.

The JV Trojans played well considering the little time that they could actually practice on the field due to weather.  Improvements need to be made in base-running.  A few more hits were needed as Waynesboro out hit the Trojans 8-5.  Flinn was the only Trojan with an extra base hit, a double in the second inning.

Keep your heads up!!  We got two games coming up this week!! Our first Home game is against Carlisle on Tuesday.  The JV Trojans travel to CD on Thursday.

Friday's Opener Set

March 20, 2014

The season opener with Waynesboro is set to take place. With a little sunshine and a lot of elbow grease from the Greene Township staff, the field looks to be ready for tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone involved.

Season Preview From P.O.

Scrimmage a Success

March 16, 2014

For not being on a field prior to Saturday afternoon, the Trojan Varsity squad looked solid in their scrimmage with Jefferson HS, WV. The bats were hot from the beginning and stayed that way through all 14 innings played. The defense made some mistakes, but they are all fixable once we get on a diamond consistently. As for the pitchers, they handled the Jefferson bats pretty well for their 1st time on a dirt mound this year.

We'll always have areas to improve upon, but Saturday showed just what might be for the Trojans this season!

Saturday's Scrimmage w/ Jefferson Moved
