Varsity Season Ends w/ 4-0 Loss to WVW

The Trojans' season came to end on Wednesday, losing to WVW 4-0 in the 1st round of the PIAA AAAA State playoffs. It wasn't how anyone wanted it to end, but the team has nothing to be ashamed about. They finished with a 15-10 record and placed in the top 16 teams in the state.

Baseball Banquet Postponed

Trojans Set for 1st Round of States

The first round of states has been set. The Trojans will be traveling to Hughstown, PA to take on Wyoming Valley West on Monday, June 6th @ 4pm.

The game will be held @ Pittston Primary Center’s Field, off of Rock St.

According to Google Maps, it is a 3 hour drive.

Reminder: Trojans will have practice @ 6pm on Sunday evening.

Trojans Win, Earn Spot in D3 AAAA Final & States

By handing #6 seed Warwick a 6-1 loss on Tuesday night, the Trojans secured a trip to states next week, but more importantly get to play for their 12th D3 title on Thursday.

The Trojans will face #1 see Hempfield @ the York Revolution stadium @ 430pm on Thursday.

The Trojan Varsity squad, behind starter Austin Suders, handled #2 seed Mechanicsburg last night for a 6-2 win. The win secures two more games for the Trojans, with one win needed to reach states. Read about it here.

Whatta Comeback!!!!

This was a game that you'll tell your kids about one day.

The Trojan Varsity squad handed Lower Dauphin a 1st round playoff loss in comeback fashion on Tuesday. Beating them 11-8 on their field.

The Trojans went down 7-1 after the 4th, but battled back by scoring 10 runs on 9 outs and landed themselves into the 2nd round.

The Trojans will head to Northern York on Thursday to face Mechanicsburg @ 630pm.

Playoff Game Suspended

Yesterday's 1st round game with Lower Dauphin was suspended due to rain. The Trojans will travel to Hummelstown again today to finish what they started. LD is leading 3-1 in the 4th inning.

D3 Power Rankings Out

The 1st set of D3 Power Rankings have been released and the Trojans are looking up. Sitting at #16 and the final spot to make the playoffs. Now, with that being said, the Trojans control their own destiny when it comes to the playoff. It started yesterday by winning 2 games against a quality 4A team in Mifflin County. Varsity Wins Double Dip

The Trojans Varsity team won in convincing fashion, 12-3, in the first of two games against Mifflin County. The 2nd game was in hand as well, until MC made a 7th inning comeback to make it interesting. A wild extra-inning affair took place, but the Trojans were able to pull out the victory, 8-7. JV's come up short at Cumberland Valley

Cumberland Valley JV 4, Trojans JV 1

The Trojan JV Team came up short at Cumberland Valley.  Tlanda threw 4 innings, allowed 4 runs, while walking 6 and striking out 2.  Brenton Byers pitched 2 innings, walking 2, and had 3 K.

Kaden Hoover was 2-3 with a double.  Garrett Mickey had a sacrifice fly to score the only Trojan run.

The JV Trojans will travel to State College on Thursday (4/2).

Scholarship Opportunity

JV's finish Week #1 with a win.

The Trojan JV Baseball Team broke through for the first W of the season on Thursday at Greene Twp Baseball Field.  After losing to Central Dauphin 12-2 on Tuesday and Waynesboro 12-3 on Wednesday, the Trojans got a W with a 14-4 win.  (Current record 1-2)

Kaden Hoover picked up the win with 5 strong innings.  He pounded the strike zone.  He allowed 2 runs, 1 K, and 3 BB.  Tlanda finished the game with 1 inning of work.  He allowed 2 runs while striking out 2.

The Trojan bats finally woke up for 12 hits.  Spencer Hockensmith had a double, while Colby Rosenberry picked up 4 singles, and Christian Cooper had 3 singles.

The JV Trojans will travel to CV on Tuesday.

The past three days have been very productive for the Trojan Baseball Program. The Varsity was able to complete two scrimmages against James Buchanan and Jefferson, WV. There were alot of positives to take away from both games. We still have plenty of work to do, but just being on the field and getting some dirt in the cleats felt good.

The JVs were able to play a scrimmage as well. They faced off against Mechanicsburg. Same story, plenty of positives and areas to improve on.

The season is less than a week away. Time to find our gameface!

Parent/Booster Meeting Rescheduled

A parent/booster meeting has been rescheduled for any player/parent who makes the team this spring. It will be held on Wednesday, March 11th in the CASHS Health room @ 630pm. Please have at least one parent represented per player. Team/season information will be handed out @ this time. 

Drive-A-Thon Set

The annual Ford Drive-A-Thon fundraiser has been announced. It will take place on Saturday, March 14th from 9am-3pm @ the HS. Mitch Warner has been quietly putting together a nice resume at the D1 level. The former Trojan standout has been named one of the top set-up men in the Big South League. He will be competing in his final season this spring.

Starting Day

Monday, March 2nd will be the first day of practice for baseball.You will need to have all the proper paperwork completed before you can tryout. Please see Coach Thomas or stop in the AD's office to pick them up. Also, a copy of your current grades will need to be given to the staff prior to or on the 1st day practice.

Booster Meeting Date Set

The next booster meeting has been set for Wednesday, January 14th @ 630pm. It will take place in the Health room @ the HS, above the fieldhouse. Please plan to attend.

Winter Workouts Set to Begin

The Chambersburg Trojans Baseball program will begin winter workouts next month. These workouts are for any prospective player to work on their skills over the winter months.

The workouts will be held each Sunday, from 130-300pm in the old CASHS fieldhouse. The first workout will be Sunday, December 7th.

These workouts will focus on drill work for both offense and defense. Pitching will start in January.

We want to take this time to thank everyone who participated in the fall ball season. The workouts will resume in December on Sunday afternoons. A schedule will be posted soon. Good luck to all winter sport players, we'll see you in the spring. For all players who do not play a winter sport, we will see you @ workouts.

Agility Training Set to Begin

Today is the 1st day for agility training at the field. It will be held from 4-5pm. Please bring your sneakers. If there's time, we will be doing some long toss. Shorts are acceptable.

Fall Ball Workouts

The first Fall Ball workout will be held on Thursday, August 28th @ Greene Township Field. It will be from 345-545pm. There will be no transportation provided by the district.

We will be having practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays this fall. Tuesdays will be for conditioning & long toss, while Thursdays will be for hitting & fielding.

The first day of games will be 9/6. A schedule will be provided prior to the first game.

Please try to attend both days if available.

Sad Day

It's a sad day in the Chambersburg Area School District and the Basketball/Baseball programs.

Mike Cooper, our JV Volunteer Assistant Coach, passed away on Thursday from complications with his heart. He is survived by his wife Kathy, sons Geoffrey & Christian and daughter Libby.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends in this time of need.

Coach Cooper will be missed!

FallBall Set to Begin

2014 FallBall will again be played @ Shippensburg HS on Saturday mornings this fall.

Any prospective player is welcomed to play. If you are interested, please contact Coach Thomas (263-3551 or 869-5118) to sign up. Please do so by 8/14. There will be a fee of $20.

There will be a total of 8 Saturdays, starting after Labor Day weekend through October. A single practice during the week is possible.

If you are playing a fall sport, please get permission from your HC to participate.

We will have 2 teams if enough players sign up. This is a very good opportunity to improve your skills without the pressure of trying out.
