Josh Bartz signs with Western Texas College
Josh Bartz, 2009 Graduate of Connally HS, has signed with Western Texas College, to further his education and baseball career. Congratulations to Josh and his parents, Mike and Debbie.

Texas Rangers Area Code Team
Anthony Bryant and Dustin Babola were both invited to the Texas Rangers Area Code Team Tryouts. A professional scout has to select you to be invited to these tryouts. Out of 400 "Junior" High School players selected in Texas and Lousiana, Tony Bryant made the roster of 25. This team will be playing 7 other MLB sponsored teams in Long Beach, CA 8/4-8/10. Season comes to an abrupt Halt
San Antonio Express Sports Page In a season of 1 run losses, and Connally's best season since 2003, Connally loses in a heartbreaker to the #4 ranked team in the state Reagan 11-7. After falling behind 5-0, Connally mounts it's biggest inning since the San Angelo game, chasing Reagan's #1 pitcher out of the game while scoring 7 runs to take a 7-5 lead only to see Reagan come back on mental errors by the Cougars. The Cougars and the Coaches have alot to look forward to next year. Good luck to the Seniors: Josh Bartz, Derek Heidemeyer, Ryan Sasaki and Brandon "Cheetah" Galban, Thanks for the good times and for helping put Connally Baseball back on Track.

San Antonio Reagan Playoff Series
UIL Playoff Bracket May 11, 2009 - 04:00 PM Connally stays up with the #4 team in the state and was 1 hit short of winning, losing to Reagan 3-2. Check under Directions for directions to Blossom. Game 2 of the series will be in San Antonio @ Blossom Athletic Center, Saturday 5/16 at 5pm and a third game, if necessary will follow afterwards.

Cougars Claim Playoff Spot With 20th Win
May 8, 2009 - 11:28 PM The Cougars playing before a full house at Cougar field found themselves down 4-0 early before rallying for the final 9 runs to beat their cross-town rival Pflugerville High 9-4. The Cougars claimed the 4th playoff spot from District 25-5A. The Cougars are playoff bound for the 1st time in 4 years. Come out and support these guys as they head into the playoffs. More info coming. we will be playing San Antonio Reagan in the 1st round later on next week(Friday and Saturday???). We will be taking t-shirt orders on Monday be sure to have your sizes ready to go.

Connally Goes to 20-12 (8-6)on the Year
March 17, 2009 - 10:00 PM Connally claims Consolation Trophy in the WolfPack Classic going 4-1. Another 1 run loss costs Cougs in their defense of their Title from last year. Next up 1st District game Tuesday vs. Austin High School at Cougar Field. Arrive early to get a good seat and watch your Cougs take aim at the District Title. Also Connally Baseball Yard Signs will be available for $8.00 a piece.

Connally Finishes Centex Classic in 1st Place!
February 28, 2009 - 06:25 PM Connally sweeps the doubleheader Saturday to finish 5-1 in the Centex Classic. Playing the 1st game at noon in 30 mph wind gusts, Connally explodes for 17 runs against San Angelo Central while allowing just 1. In the second game, after a grueling 5 game stretch with some of the best teams in the state, the Cougars came out flat falling behind Temple 3-1 in the bottom of the 6th. With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Steven McMillan lines a single into right field to tie the game and then Alex Torres drives a triple into the gap for 2 more runs, Zach Tobler then retires Temple in the 7th for the save. Adrian Enriquez gets the pitching win. Connally improves to 6-1 on the year. Next up Hendrickson @ Hendrickson on Tuesday 3/3 at 6:30pm. Come out and support your Cougars.

Cougars Defeat #9 Highland Park 10-4
February 27, 2009 - 08:15 PM Connally started Friday with a 7-0 Shutout of Magnolia High behind the pitching of Stephen McMillan. Dustin Babola went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 Stolen Bases. In the nightcap vs. the #9 4A team in the state, Highland Park, Connally learn from the previous night vs. Lake Travis, they learn how to hold the lead against a very good team, Ryan Sasaki tossed 5 innings giving up just 3 runs, all unearned to earn the pitching victory. The bottom of the batting order, Steven McMillan and Deandre Lankford, accounting for 5 of Connally's 10 runs. A big win in Connally's baseball history. Connally now 4-1. Next up, San Angelo Central and Temple@ Westwood High at 12:00pm and 2:15pm. See you there!

Cougs Split A Pair
February 26, 2009 - 08:28 PM In a game matching old District foes and a now 6th ranked Team in the state. The Cougars put a big scare into Lake Travis succumbing in the final inning 9-8. Coach Pearce and Coach Cox then reminded the team we had another game to go. The Cougars rebounded in the 2nd game against Arlington Bowie 7-2. The Cougars get an overnite rest and will return tomorrow against Magnolia High in the first game and against another ranked team in the nightcap #9 Highland Park. Come Early and cheer on your Cougs.

Cougs notch 1st win of the season 11-1
February 24, 2009 - 10:00 PM The Cougars open the 2009 Regular Season with a 11-1 victory over Del Valle HS. Next up is Lake Travis on Thursday at 2:15pm 2/26 and Arlington Bowie @ 4:30pm at Lake Travis HS.

Connally outplays the Hawks
February 13, 2009 - 11:20 PM The Connally Varsity had another good showing last night at Canyon Lake. The Varsity heads into their final scrimmage against Killeen Ellison this Tuesday in Killeen. With 10 days to go before their opening game vs. Del Valle.

February 10, 2009 - 10:00 PM Another good showing by the Varsity tonight vs. Leander. Next up Canyon Lake HS Friday night.

The Cougar Fall team swept a doubleheader on Saturday vs. Del Valle and Austin Crockett with temperatures in the low 40's and winds gusting into the 20's, the Cougars played as if it was 80 in the summer and outplayed their opponents for the wins. Congratulations to the Cougars.

Alumni Game
January 17, 2009 - 12:00 PM The 1st Annual Alumni game went off as planned yesterday as the weather permitted us to get in a 9 inning game. 17 Ex-Players returned to play, but our Varsity showed the EX's that they could play also as they came back from a 1 run deficit in the bottom of the 8th to secure the win. Next up a tournament is being planned for the upcoming weekend at Connally. As we get closer to Saturday the 24th we will post current info. Congratulations Connally for starting up this season with a hard fought win. And I want to thank Mary Galban for the extra work on getting a lot of items donated for our BBQ dinner, and making it very successful along with all the help of the baseball parents.
