Crusaders Get Huge District Road Win Against Sagemont
January 21, 2010 —
The Crusaders Clinched the top seed in the district by defeating 2nd ranked Sagemont, 55-45. Sagemont entered the contest as one of the top teams in the state of Florida, regardless of class, with D1 signees, 7-1 Fab Melo and 6'6 Will Sheehey. CSCA used great defense and efficient offense to take a 15-11 1st quarter lead and never looked back. The Crusaders were led by Kyle Lindbergh, who had 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Brandon Iverson followed up with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Derek Domino, had his usual all around game, scoring 9 points, handing out 9 assists while grabbing 7 rebounds. Josh Hagler scored 6 points and had 7 rebounds but his best contribution was holding the 7 foot Melo to 7 points. Hassan Adnan had his best game of the year scoring 9 points.
Crusaders Get District Win vs. Yeshiva, Domino Ties Assist Record
December 1, 2009 —
The Crusaders opened their district schedule by beating Yeshiva, 69-40. CSCA came out sluggish in the first half and only led by 5 points at the break. The Crusaders held Yeshiva to 14 points in the second half en route to an easy victory. Leading the way for the Crusaders was Derek Domino, who tied the single game record with 11 assists, many of them to Brandon Iverson and Kyle Lindbergh who scored 23 and 19 points, respectively on a combined 16-24 from the field.
Crusaders Beat Benjamin in Opener
November 24, 2009 —
The Crusaders beat region rival Benjamin for the first time to open the 2009/10 season, 69-58. Senior Brandon Iverson led CSCA with 18 points, while senior Kyle Lindbergh added 17 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots. Senior Derek Domino had a solid performance from his point guard position, scoring 14 points and handing out 4 assists as well as 5 rebounds. Senior Josh Hagler contributed 6 points while playing his usual great defense.

Crusaders Hang On Beat Calvary, Advance To Championship
February 13, 2009 – 07:30 PM —
Coral Springs Christian endured foul trouble and spirited play from Calvary Christian to win their district semifinal game, 61-57. The Crusader advance to the district championship game for the 3rd time in four years. The Crusaders were led by junior forward, Josh Hagler, who had a career high 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Kesnel Jean followed with 17 points and Caleb Matthews had 8 points, all coming in the crucial 4th quarter. Kent Lindbergh had 6 points, which included the biggest shot of the night. Kent knocked down a 3 pointer immediately after Calvary took its first lead with under 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Kyle Lindbergh battled foul trouble all night but still managed 7 points and 10 rebounds. His 10 rebounds pushed him past John Paragone for the single season rebound record with 265 breaking the previous record of 259. The Crusaders will take on host Sagemont for the district championship.
Crusaders Prepare For Districts
February 10, 2009 —
The Crusaders finished the regular season with a record setting 19 wins. They are now preparing themselves for the postseason. The Crusaders received a first round bye in the district tournament as a result of being the #1 seed and will play the winner of the quarterfinal match up between the #4 seed Calvary Christian and the #5 seed Hollywood Christian. CSCA will play their semifinal game on Friday February 13th at 7:30 PM. The District tournament is being hosted by Sagemont.
Crusaders Play Well, Beat Stallions
February 6, 2009 —
The Crusaders bounced back from a sub par performance and played more like the #1 district seed in defeating American Heritage Delray, 71-42. CSCA jumped on the Stallions in the first quarter 24-10 and never looked back. The Crusaders were led by Kyle Lindbergh's 21 points, 14 rebounds, 6 blocked shots and 5 steals. Matt Geisen had a great performance with 19 points, 7 steals and 5 assists. Kesnel Jean had a good shooting night with 13 points, including two 3 point field goals. The Crusaders broke their regular season record for victories with 19. The Crusaders finish the regular season with a record of 19-6.
Crusaders Get Ugly Win Against Charter
February 3, 2009 —
The Crusaders overcame a very sloppy performance to defeat Coral Springs Charter, 49-44. The Crusaders were led by Matt Geisen who scored 16 points and dished out 5 assists. Kyle Lindbergh had a solid effort with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Josh Hagler, also had 2 blocked shots. With their blocked shots, both Hagler and Lindbergh broke the single season blocked shot record. The previous record of 73 was held by Stuart Jones.
Crusaders Lose Tough Game At North Broward
January 31, 2009 —
The Crusaders down two with two minutes to go could not make the plays down the stretch and dropped a tough game to North Broward Prep, 60-48. The Crusaders were led by Kyle Lindbergh's 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Kesnel Jean had a tough shooting night but still managed 14 points. Matt Geisen had a solid outing with 8 points and 6 assists.
Crusaders Get Big Win At McCarthy
January 29, 2009 —
The Crusaders continued their role as "Road Warriors" by beating 4A Archbishop McCarthy, 53-52. It is the third straight year that the game in this series has been decided by one point. The Crusaders got off to a sluggish start and were down 15-10 after one quarter. In the second quarter the Crusaders cranked up the defense and Kent Lindbergh hit three 3 point field goals to put CSCA up 32-23 at the half. The Crusaders played poorly in the third quarter and allowed the Mavericks come back and take the lead, 41-38 at the end of three. The fourth quarter went back and forth with the Crusaders up one with 2.2 seconds to go the Mavericks had the ball under their own basket. The Crusaders had a great defensive possession and forced an off balanced three at the buzzer. The Crusaders were led by Kent Lindbergh with 16 points including four three point field goals. Matt Geisen, Kyle Lindbergh and Kesnel Jean all had 11 points apiece. Kesnel Jean, also did a tremendous defensive job on the Mavericks leading scorer, holding him to 8 points.
Crusaders Defeat Ft. Lauderdale Christian, Geisen Sets Assist Record
January 27, 2009 —
The Crusaders were led by Kesnel Jean's 25 points, with 19 coming in the first half. Kyle Lindbergh, also, contributed 12 points 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Matt Geisen continued his assault on the CSCA record books by breaking the season assist record. Matt's 7 assists on the night gave him a season total of 123 breaking the old record of 119 set by Ryan Butler.
Crusaders Beat Knights, Clinch 1st Place, Geisen Sets Steals Record
January 23, 2009 —
The Crusaders defeating district rival Highlands Christian, combined with Westminster Academy beating Sagemont assured CSCA of the top seed in the District 14-2A tournament. The Crusaders started out hot outscoring the Knights 12-1 in the 1st quarter. Highlands, however, would not give up cutting the Crusader lead to five at the half, 20-15. The 3rd quarter was relatively even with the Crusaders leading 36-29 going into the 4th. The Crusaders blew the game open in the 4th quarter by outscoring the Knights 20-3 and winning by the score of 56-32. The Crusaders were led by Matt Geisen who had 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. The 4 steals gave Geisen 75 steals for the season breaking the previous record of 73 that was held by David Fantell. Kyle Lindbergh also had another good performance scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.. Josh Hagler, also, played well scoring 9 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.
Crusaders Defeat Region Opponent, Dade Christian
January 22, 2009 —
The Crusaders used great defense and timely offense to break open a close game and defeat Dade Christian, 54-45. CSCA was led by Kesnel Jean who scored 16 points. Kyle Lindbergh played well, scoring 15 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Matt Geisen had another outstanding outing, scoring 7 points and handing out 9 assists.Kent Lindbergh continued his outstanding play, scoring 12 points.
Crusaders Bounce Back Against Calvary
January 20, 2009 —
The Crusaders came back strong after their first loss of the new year by Defeating district rival Calvary Christian, 63-38. The Crusaders were led by Kesnel Jean, who had 18 points. Kent Lindbergh had his best outing so far as a varsity Crusader, scoring 16 points, including 4 3 point field goals. Kyle Lindbergh followed with 14 points but had 21 rebounds, breaking the previous school record of 18 held by Raymond Cadet. Kyle, also added 6 steals, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots. Josh Hagler had a strong performance, scoring 10 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and blocking 8 shots. Matt Geisen continued his pursuit of the season assist record totaling 8 on the night which gave him 100 for the year. Matt needs only 20 more assists to break the record held by Ryan Butler.
Westminster Ends Crusader Win Streak at 8
January 17, 2009 —
The Crusaders could not contain a hot Westminster team losing a tough district battle, 73-54. The Crusader's win streak was snapped at 8 games. CSCA was led by Matt Geisen, who had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kyle Lindbergh had another double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Kesnel Jean had a tough shooting night but still managed 12 points.
Crusader Beat Sagemont, Take Top Spot In District
January 15, 2009 —
The Crusaders won another huge district game on the road, this time at Sagemont, winning 43-36. The win give the Crusaders a 6-1 district record and sole possession of 1st place. CSCA had one of their finest defensive efforts, completely shutting down the talented Lions. The Crusaders were led by Matt Geisen, who had his best game ever as a Crusader, scoring 12 points, handing out 6 assists and grabbing 7 rebounds. Kesnel Jean had a solid performance scoring 12 points and playing tremendous perimeter defense. Kyle Lindbergh scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and recorded 5 blocked shots while holding Sagemont's best player to 3 free throws. Josh Hagler played tremendous interior defense, holding Sagemont's 6'9" center to 4 points. Kent Lindbergh had his best defensive outing of the year, while scoring 5 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. The Crusader have another big test as they travel to Westminster Academy on Saturday night.
Crusaders Hammer Hollywood Christian
January 8, 2009 —
The Crusaders raised their district record to 5-1, by beating Hollywood Christian, 74-35. Hollywood was playing without their leading scorer, but the Crusaders did not lose focus soundly defeating the Eagles. Kyle Lindbergh led CSCA with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Kesnel Jean was close behind with 22 points. Matt Geisen had another all around great performance with 14 points, 7 assists and 8 steals.
Crusaders Crush Calvary, Hagler Sets Blocked Shot Record
January 6, 2009 —
The Crusaders had another impressive road victory, beating district rival Calvary Christian, 75-58. The Crusaders set a school record for points in a quarter, scoring 33 in the 1st to help jump out to a huge lead. CSCA was lead by Kesnel Jean, who had a season high, 30 points including six 3 point field goals. Matt Geisen had another phenomenal performance scoring 22 points, passing out 7 assists and recording 8 steals. Kyle Lindbergh also had a big night scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Josh Hagler had 11 blocked shots to lead a strong defensive effort while also breaking his own school record for most blocked shots in a game.
Crusaders Win St. Andrews Tourney
January 3, 2009 —
The Crusaders turned in one of there more impressive performances this year in defeating St Andrews in the championship of their Holiday Tournament, 65-47. The Crusaders took a 6 point halftime lead and then exploded in the 3rd quarter to lead by over 20 and then held on for the victory. Kesnel Jean hit 11 of 12 free throws in the 4th quarter to bring home the victory. Jean led the Crusaders with 22 points and 5 steals. Tournament MVP, Kyle Lindbergh had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Matt Geisen continued his stellar play with 13 points, and 6 assists was named to the all tournament team. Josh Hagler had his usual gutty performance with 4 points, 14 rebounds and 7 blocked shots while playing great interior defense.
Crusaders Roll Against Trinity
January 2, 2009 —
The Crusaders picked up where they left off in Gainesville by rolling over Trinity Christian in the St Andrews Holiday Tournament, winning 63-32. The Crusaders had a balanced attack led by Kyle Lindbergh's 21 points.
Crusaders Win Second Game In Gainesville

The Crusaders took cars of business with another solid performance against 6A Alonzo from Tampa, winning 54-40. Kyle Lindbergh had a bounce back game with 25 points, 14 rebounds 7 steals and 6 blocked shots. Matt Geisen, also filled up the stat sheet with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 9 steals. Kesnel Jean turned in another solid performance with 11 points.
Crusaders Win Opener in Gainesville
December 29, 2008 —
The Crusaders bounced back from their worst performance of the year by beating 4A WEiregrass Ranch in the opening game of the St. Francis Christmas Classic, 56-48. The Crusaders were led by Matt Geisen who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Kesnel Jean, also had a great performance scoring 15 points.

Crusaders Win at Highlands Christian
December 12, 2008 —
The Crusaders won a sloppy game at Highlands Christian, 40-21, to raise their district record to 3-1. The Crusaders were led by Josh Hagler who was one blocked shot from a triple double, with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocked shots.
Crusaders Get Big District Road Victory
The Crusaders went to Hollywood Christian and came up with a big, district road victory, winning 66-57. The Crusaders were again led by Kyle Lindbergh who had 28 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Matt Geison had a tremendous performance scoring 14 points, dishing out 5 assists with only 1 turnover. Josh Hagler had another great performance, scoring 9 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and blocking 4 shots. Kesnel Jean and Kyle Lindbergh did an outstanding defensive job on the the Eagles top scorer holding him to 15 points below his average.

The Crusaders bounced back from several tough losses to defeat district rival, Westminster Academy 56-50, evening their district record at 1-1. CSCA was led by Kyle Lindbergh, who scored 17 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. Kyle , also contributed 3 steals, 4 assists The Crusaders bounced back from several tough losses with a great performance against district rival Westminster Academy, winning 56-50. With the win, the Crusaders even upand 4 blocked shots. Josh Hagler had his best performance of the season with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Crusaders Lose District Matchup Against Sagemont
December 2, 2008 —
The Crusader lost a heartbreaker to Sagemont, in their district opener. In a playoff atmosphere, both teams played with great intensity but the Crusaders fell short, 35-33. The Crusaders were led by Kyle Lindbergh, who had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. Matt Geison and Kesnel Jean both had 8 points apiece. Jean's points all came in the first half as he injured his ankle at the end of the first half. Josh Hagler, also had an outstanding performance grabbing 7 rebounds and playing great interior defense.
Crusaders just come up short in Championship Game
November 29, 2008 —
The Crusaders again had trouble finishing a game. Leading by as many as 7 points in the 4th quarter, the Crusaders ended up falling to the Spartans of Miami Country Day, 56-54 in the Championship of the Westminster Christian Thanksgiving Classic. CSCA was led by Kyle Lindbbergh with 21 points followed by Kesnel Jean with 19 points. Matt Geison, also, had a solid effort putting up 12 points. Kyle Lindbergh was selected to the all-tournament team.
Crusaders Hold on to Defeat Westminster Christian
November 28, 2008 —
The Crusaders came out hot in the 1st quarter, taking a 24-10 lead and then held on to defeat Westminster Christian, 77-75 in the opening round of the Westminster Christian Thanksgiving Classic. The Crusader lead ballooned to 20 points in the 2nd quarter and then sloppy play allowed Warriors to get back in the game. The Crusaders were led by senior Matt Geison's 28 points on 13-16 from the free throw line. Kyle Lindbergh and Kesnel Jean followed with 19 and 16 points respectively. Kyle Lindbergh, also, had 5 assists, 5 steal and 4 blocked shots. The Crusaders will face Miami Country Day in the finals.
Crusaders lose close opener.
November 25, 2008 —
In a highly contested game the Crusaders could not hold a 4 point 4th quarter lead and fell to Benjamin, 46-44. The Crusaders were led by senior Kesnel Jean with 17 points followed by junior Kyle Lindbergh with 9. Junior Josh Hagler pulled down 15 rebound in the region loss.
