Athletics News - Updated May 26th, 2012
Congratulations to Hailey White, a member of our 2012 Graduating class, multi-sport Crusader Athlete, and Captain of our Provincial Championship volleyball team. Hailey has just agreed to attend the University of Dallas, and will be joining their Crusaders Volleyball Team in time for the 2012-2013 season. To the best of our knowledge, Hailey becomes the first Crusader Athlete to move on in their sport to the post secondary level. Hailey will be competing in Division 3 of the NCAA. We wish her the best and are proud of her achievements.
Soccer - schedules for the season have been updated, and now include playoff dates. Please check back frequently for updates. To date we have had no rainouts!
Track and field season is now complete at CWA. Great job athletes and coaches!
Athletic Awards will be held on Monday June 11th @ 4PM in the gymnasium. All athletes from this year must attend, and parents are invited too.
Mr. D'Angelo is working on next year's athletic plans. We are looking for passionate and dedicated coaches to join our coaching staff in many of our 9 sports. If you are interested, please e-mail me!
This week in Outdoor Education Class:
Please note that students have received outdoor education schedules for the duration of the school year this week. As we switch to outdoor activities on Monday April 30th, all students should have a towel and modest swimsuit stored in their locker in case we switch our plans to swimming because of inclement weather.
Monday May 28th - Grade 7 girls are planning their backpacking trip to Purcopine Hills which takes place the following Monday. Girls must be packed with everything but food by Friday June 1st.
Wednesday May 30th - The Grade 10's will be departing on Tuesday May 29th following school to Golden, British Columbia to go White Water Rafting on the Kicking Horse river. We will return by approximately 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Please bring swimsuit, warm clothes, and money for meals.
Thursday May 31st - Grade 8/9 boys are scheduled to go hiking on the Powderface Trail. We will depart shortly after morning announcements, and return for the end of the day. Please dress for the weather, and bringa lunch.
