Welcome to the new Dom Aitro Rookies and Dom Aitro PONY Baseball League website
Entering the 2015 season, we celebrated two anniversaries. The 58th anniversary of the Dom Aitro Pony League and the 103 birthday of Vincent Aitro, one of the leagues principle founders. Brothers, Vincent and Carmen were instrumental in the founding and preserving of Dom Aitro PONY Baseball league in New Haven, Connecticut. The field was dedicated in memory of their older brother Dom, who passed away at a young age. Vincent and Carmen dedicated their lives to keeping their brothers memory alive and providing the opportunity for thousands of young baseball players in New Haven to enrich their lives though participation in the sport. Dom Aitro league has been host to many section, region, and zone tournaments. The Dom Aitro league qualified for the 1968 Bronco World series in Oak Park, Illinois. The current field was dedicated to Dom Aitro in either 1959 or 1960 by Mayor Lee. Vincent who owned a vending machine company on Grand Ave in New Haven has been involved in youth sports his whole life. In addition to being a sponsor of Dom Aitro PONY League, he also supported the Walter Camp Foundation and St. Jude's Hospital Research.
