Please notify Coach Mike by Wednesday April 22nd.
Community Service Hours are now available to all of the high school lacrosse players through the Yorba Linda Lacrosse Academies youth 2015 Spring Lightning Lacrosse League. This is a great opportunity for your sons to obtain plenty community service hours for their graduation requirement and then some.
The youth program was started to help build all of the PYLUSD high school lacrosse programs. Most of the dads are new to the sport and really appreciate and rely on the high school players who help them coach. The youth players really enjoy being coached and look up to the high school players as well. I truly feel it helps our high school players better understand the game and become better players on the field when they have gone through this experience.
If they help coach one of the youth teams they can earn up to 30 hours in the spring season.
I usually take the Varsity Players, seniors and juniors, first to help the dads coach the youth teams. However if many of them do not need the hours I will take sophomores then freshmen.
I am currently looking for 16 players now to help a dad coach one the 16 youth teams in our upcoming spring season. There is at least one high school player assigned to each team. I will only assign two players to each team for a season. All practices are on Tuesday OR Thursday night at Yorba Linda High School on the grass field. The times are 5 - 6:30 pm or 6:30 - 8 pm. There is only one practice a week once the games start on May 10th. Most of the games are on Sunday at YLHS grass field starting at 4:30, 5:30 or 6:30 pm. Practice starts April 28th and the season ends June 28th.
