WELCOME to the official website of EMERALD PONY BASEBALL.
PONY
(Protect Our Nation's Youth)
The Emerald Pony Baseball League is located in El Cajon, California. Emerald Pony is a nonprofit youth benefit corporation and is operated totally by volunteer, coaches and parents. We provide a safe atmosphere while teaching the game of baseball for the kids of El Cajon and surrounding communities. We are governed by the Official Rules of Major League Baseball and PONY Baseball rules and regulations, which include those exceptions believed essential for our youth baseball program.

Our board members, led by President Al Westermeyer, welcomes all visitors. Whether you are a player, parent, grandparent, coach or a fan, we hope you will find the information on the website useful and informative. The website will be used to inform the Emerald Pony families and fans about our great baseball organization.

Play full Major League Baseball Rules

PINTO division, for players ages 7-8 years old pitching machine. For these younger players, hitting is the priority. With kid pitch at this age, once a child is hit by a pitcher, he will be afraid for some time. The player will develop bad habits, stepping out, and not watching the ball. More worried about being hit again. He needs to develop pure hitting skills, have fun, build confidence, and then he's ready to move up to the next level.
"Once you're hitting, You're having fun"

MUSTANG division, for 9-10 year olds, full Major League rules on 46' x 60' diamond.

BRONCO division, ages 11-12 years old on a 50' x 70' foot diamond.

PONY division, ages 13-14 on a 54' x 80' diamond.

COLT division, ages 14-16 on a 60' x 90'  diamond.

Progressive field sizes, versus going straight to a full size field and less chance of arm injuries.

- Leading off and stealing bases
- Pitchers holding runners, Pick off and Balks
- Hit and run, bunting with hit and run
- Big barrel bats (optional)
- Dropped 3rd strikes
- Paid Experienced Umpires
- Night Games

This is your chance to see what the youth of San Diego play, North of Highway 8. PONY baseball is the stepping stone to Travel, High School and College baseball. Why wait until you are 13 years old to learn to play the FULL game of baseball, START NOW.
