ENYC's 2012-2013 MVP Meaghan McAdam with Coach Phil Contino and ENYC Board Memebr Cindy Mack
If you want to see what ENYC means to any /all of the children involved in our league, look no further than Meaghan McAdam . Her smile and laughter at each and every practice or game truly defines what this league means to her and to many others. Meaghan has been playing in ENYC since 3rd grade and truly enjoys basketball. Meaghan has found herself a home on my team for the last 3 years. She is a very funny, goofy and silly kid like the rest of the girls on the team. She is simply loved by all of the coaches and adored by her teammates. Meaghan has not missed a practice in those 3 years and tries her very best to become better so she can contribute during our games. Well, that hard work has paid off. Each year her confidence has grown. If any of you attended last year’s Northport Middle School’s basketball game—there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when she scored. She has continued to gain more confidence through her teammates’ help and has learned to position herself on the court to help the team. This 2012-13 season was a breakout year for her. Meaghan has scored over 10 points this season along with a couple of assists—AND YES, 2 FOULS. I would like to add, everyone in our division – including coaches, have always helped in some manner to make Meaghan’s basketball experiences one of total fulfillment and joy for her. And for that I thank you all. There are not enough adjectives to fully describe how proud I am of her. Thank you Steve Schmitt & Cindy Mack for awarding her the ENYC 2012-2013 MVP.
Kindest regards,
Phil Contino- coach of the Mercury team.
