Interior Baseball League

General Information
The Interior Baseball League serves all youth baseball players ages 4-14 in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, including Ft. Wainwright and Eielson AFB. IBL plays under the "Traditional" PONY League program, using two year age brackets (ages 4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14). Player birthdays must be on or before April 30 for each bracket.
In an effort to weigh each of the teams evenly, all players, ages 7-14 must attend a mandatory assessment before they will be placed on a team. This is NOT a tryout, all who register before the deadline are placed on a team. Assessments will be held during the month of April. Players are assessed on: Throwing, Hitting, Fly Balls, Ground Balls and Pitching. The Shetland 5-6 (Tee Ball) division is not included in the assessment process. IBL will allow Shetland players who are 4 years of age on or before April 30 to play, however they would have to play in this division for 3 years before moving up to the next division at age 7.
Teams will be formed after the assessment process is over so that each team is as balanced as possible. If a player is not able to attend one of the assessment dates, please contact the coordinator for your division.
The season will begin with a “Dust-off” tournament (for ages 9-14) in mid-May (weather/field conditions permitting) and the regular season will run through the 3rd week of July. Games are played in Fairbanks and in North Pole for each of the divisions. We will also hold an end of the season tournament the last week of July (for ages 9-14).
IBL is seeking active members to help anywhere you can. We need more parent volunteers for the following positions: Coaches, Coordinators, Board Members, Score Keepers, Fundraising, and Field Maintenance. It takes parent involvement to run a successful program!
