New 12U/13U Frederick Sluggers

If your birthday falls in between 5/1/2002 and 4/30/2003, then this message is for you.

The Sluggers program is beginning to scout current high level 12u players for the 13u team that will start playing in the fall of 2015. We aren't your run of the mill "travel team." The Sluggers emphasize a family culture and focus on player development for high school, college, and beyond. Sluggers players benefit from young and experienced coaching, as well as, the use of their own field and facilities.

In the first calendar year for the program, the Sluggers were the runners-up for the USSSA 13u World Series, finished with a 30-15 record, and a #1 ranking in the region out of 350 teams. They also saw their program double in size and attract the top players from the region.

13U Frederick Sluggers 2014 Season Recap

The 13U Frederick Sluggers started their 2014 Season with a 2nd place showing at Mutiny in the Park going 4-1 for that tournament.

The next stretch of tournaments had the Sluggers trying to find their way with close losses and only 2 victories. Their 2-9 stretch was highlighted by leading the Olney Pirates going into the last inning at Mother's Day Madness. Their 3-2 lead ended with a 4-3 loss. That close loss to a great team seemed to be the catalyst the team needed. They won their next 2 games to Win the Battle for the Rings in the "B" bracket.

And then our next stretch of tournaments had the Sluggers going 22-4. With a victory in Winchester and runner-up finishes at Super NIT in Fredericksburg, VA and USSSA World Series in Kingsport, TN.

The Sluggers were 5-0 in the World Series including a victory over the previously undeated Danville Mustangs. The Mustangs then came back and beat the Sluggers twice in the double-elimination format thus ending the Sluggers title hopes.

The Sluggers finished their first season as a team with a 30-15 record.
