Petal is no longer playing Dixie Boys Baseball. As of now, Petal residents are able to play Dixie Boys Baseball in Hattiesburg. If you would like to join our league, we will be very glad to have you.  Our league will not interfere with school baseball or travel baseball. We will not start our season until after school ball is over.  Come join us for another year of competitive baseball and our quest to reach another Dixie Boys World Series.

We are now offering online registration for the 2015 spring/summer season. The form is available in the online forms section in the menu on the left side of the page or the box in the upper right hand section of the page. If you register online, it will save time at registration the day of tryouts. Everyone who is not currently on a roster has to tryout.

Hattiesburg 14's are the 2014 Dixie Boys World Series Champions. They are only the 3rd team to win both World Series titles. Hattiesburg had to defeat the host team, Bossier City, twice Weds to win the title. They pulled out a 10-3, 11 inning, 4 hour and 15 minute win in game one, that saw on field temps in the 110 degree range, a packed house and hostile crowd. The 2nd game was 4-4 going to the bottom of the 6th when we struck for 1 run on a Jo Jo Gray homerun. The game and World Series ended with us throwing the tying run out at the plate on a single to center field.

Hattiesburg 14 year old All-stars are the 2014 Mississippi Dixie Boys State Champions. They defeated Laurel 19-1 Thursday night in Magee to win the title. They will travel to Bossier City Louisiana for the Dixie Boys World Series to defend their World Series title starting August 2nd.

Parking in front of the fence is a high risk. The City and the Optimist Club do not pay to replace broken windshields or windows. We have several broken each season. Park in these spots at your own risk.

Due to Insurance regulations, coaches, players, umpires and Dixie Boys Officials are the only people allowed on the playing field or in the dugouts at any time.
