CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
SUMMARY OF THE CINCINNATI BENGALS REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
For the 3rd year in a row, the 12-14 year old girl's from Harrisburg lost in the championship game. The girls dominated the tournament by going 4-0 and landing the top seed for the championship game. The girls worked and practiced very hard for this tournament. As a matter of fact, they practiced twice a week from August until October to prepare for the chance to go to Orlando. In a field of five teams, including the defending champs from Youngstown Ohio, the ran through bracket by putting up more points than any team in the tournament. They won the first game 26-6, second game 34-6, third game 34-0 and the 4th game against the defending champs, 19-13 in overtime. It came down to the championship game against the defending champs. We drew first blood by scoring on our first possession, but the Youngstown team buckled down and outlasted us 19-13. The girls were devastated because we were the team to beat. The girls will be back because next year we are returning 5 key players.
We also took our 9-11 year old coed team to Cincy, the didn't do very well but showed a competitive spirit. They were very young and have the whole team returning.
All in all, it was a wonderful trip for the kids and the parents and we'll be making the trip again next year.
