1st Annual Hope for the Holidays Tournament

Homeruns for Hope is working with the House of Hope in Cherokee county ( https://www.houseofhopeng.org/ ) to organize a fall tournament to help supply their Santa’s Workshop.    The field and the umpires have donated their time to this event.   There will be no money for gate fees or registration.    However, House of Hope volunteers will be accepting blankets and canned goods for a gate entrance.   The team registration will consist of $200 worth of gifts that will go to HoH Santa’s Workshop.

HoH Santa’s Workshop provides families a chance for fellowship, fun and a chance for the kids to meet with Santa.   Every child that comes through leaves with a blanket and the parents also leave with gifts for the kids for Christmas.   We want to be sure that all kids that come through leave with a blanket.   No child should go to bed cold.   HoH Santa’s Workshop takes place every year at the end of November and would not take place without donations and volunteers.

Coaches, this is a chance to show your kids that they can make a difference just by doing something they love to do.    You can come out of your budgets for this or ask parents to donate $20 and go as a team to buy gifts for those that would otherwise not have any.    Be a part of something that is special and make a difference.

Once you decide that you want to make a difference, we will provide more details on gifts that the HoH will need as well as blanket options that go well with the kids that need the warmth.

Thanks you for deciding to make a difference.

Santa's Workshop

Saturday, December 2, 2017

Santa’s Workshop is a day of family fun. The festivities begin when Santa makes his entrance via horse and buggy at 10 am. The children are paired up with an elf to start their adventure which includes breakfast, games, crafting ornaments, decorating cookies, writing letters to Santa. To top it off, pictures will be made with Santa. The children also get to gift shop for their parents. However, the festivities are but a ruse to keep the children busy while the parents shop at Santa’s Secret Closet. Each family will choose one new toy and one new book per child. Next one board game and one art kit per family. Then they choose one item for each child in the such as: scarves, hats, gloves, blankets. Then not least of all, there will be unlimited used toys.

Items needed: new art kits, new board games, scarves, beanies and gloves, books, stocking-stuffers, stockings.

Volunteers needed for that Saturday to arrive by 9a, 12 years old or older.

(Parents with children have priority. Parents without children will be worked in throughout the event. We encourage everyone to bring their children so they can enjoy the Christmas
festivities.) To register, visit the House of Hope each Wednesday 5:00pm to 6:30pm. For more information, please call (770) 313-6287.
