I.C. Basketball teams play in a competitive basketball league which is part of the CYO program of the Diocese of Metuchen. Our goal is to give every IC Parish or School child an opportunity to participate. Parent participation is vital to achieving this goal. Attendance at twice-weekly practices is crucial to continue our successful program. All games will be played on Saturdays, beginning December 4th and continuing through mid March. Our 3rd graders will play in a developmental program at MMOG in Hillsborough on Sundays beginning in January.
Evaluations will be held at each age bracket to create A and B teams. These teams will be placed in Diocesan divisions to reflect their ability and create competitive games throughout the league. Cuts will only be made if necessary due to lack of qualified coaches and/or practice space constraints.
Our teams are open to boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. Priority registration will be given to Immaculate Conception Parish and School players. Members of neighboring parishes and non-Catholic’s (in that order) will be accepted only as conditions allow. With regard to the 7/8 grade age bracket, there is a significant increase in the competitive level of play. In the interest of all players enjoying a positive playing experience, all 7/8th grade players should have prior experience in an established basketball program. We will be having try-outs for the 7/8 grade teams.
Evaluations/Tryouts are tentatively scheduled for October 17th-21st, times TBD. All groups and times will be posted here on our website.
Uniforms - All returning players have the option to reuse their reversible uniform from last year (2016/2017). Returning players may also purchase all or parts of a new uniform. New players must purchase a complete uniform.
Medical release forms and parish waivers can be found in the handouts section of this website and must be filled out before evaluations.
