The Inland Empire Baseball Coaches Association (IEBCA) is an organization that will promote baseball in the Inland Empire of Southern California with an emphasis in high school baseball. IEBCA is dedicated to provide exposure to players for recruiting purposes and promoting co-operation and camaraderie within the coaching ranks.

Inland Empire Baseball Coaches Association has partnered with the City of San Bernardino & San Bernardino PONY to host the 2019 San Bernardino County vs. Riverside County Senior All-Star Game at Fiscalini Field.  We would like to thank our sponsors Pro 9 & OC Sports for their generous donations of hats and game baseballs for our events.

The IEBCA is proud to announce the Fred Smith Scholarship in partnership with FanFundit

Freddie Lee Smith was born on January 1, 1948 in Riverside County. He was a graduate of San Bernardino High School where he played football all way up to junior college at San Bernardino Valley College. He worked for GTE/Verizon for 39 years before he retired.

Fred’s competitive spirit led him to coach youth football beginning in 1972 -1985 then again in 2006 -2013. He coached the Southwest Bears, Rialto and San Bernardino Pop Warner, North San Bernardino Junior All American. He coached 2 years of HS football at Cajon along with youth track, baseball, and basketball.

Chuck Lewis encouraged Fred to go into umpiring which he did for 29 years with IBUA.

Fred was proceeded in death by his stepfather, Dave Williams, his mother, Willie Mae Atlas, his brothers Jessie Smith and Roger Edmunds. He leaves behind his wife Carol of 50 years his children Tracy, Freddie Jr., and Kelly.

Fred not only served his family but the baseball community for 29 years. Fred will forever be part of a fraternity that so many long for. We thank the Smith family for allowing us to have Fred Smith for so long. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to present the MVP from each county a $500 scholarship to help with their college fees as a symbol of Fred’s dedication and service to student athletes throughout the Inland Empire.

Inland Empire Baseball Coaches:

The IEBCA will be hosting a 1 Day Saturday Coaches Clinic.

We are proud to announce that ​Dr. Dio Saucedo​ will be our keynote speaker at the Inaugural IEBCA Coaches Clinic. ​ Dr. Dio Saucedo is a performance consultant and President of Performer’s Assist.
Performers Assist (PA)​ is an educationally based program that is designed to assist athletes, coaches, artists, educators, and business professionals with a variety of performance-related issues such as, stress, anxiety, fear, failure, concentration, and leadership.

Dr. Dio Saucedo will have a sports psychology discussion with retired UC Riverside Baseball Coach Doug Smith.

Our session speakers have extensive knowledge in their respective areas and we are particularly excited to have the Director of Compliance from Azusa Pacific University Payton Williams speak about NCAA eligibility and how that affects recruiting.  Williams was a 3 sport letterman (Football, Basketball, & Baseball) from Moreno Valley HS and played football for Fresno State where he was an Academic All-American then played 3 years of professional football.  He graduated from law school at the University of Minnesota and worked in the NCAA National Office.

We will then transition into 20 minute sessions on:

We encourage you to bring your staff so you can split up and catch all of the sessions. We will have a few vendors as well so you can get discounts on hats, balls, and general baseball gear.

The IEBCA will also be honoring our Award winners for their success:

Ralph Grajeda from Yucaipa HS & Brad Alcock from Moreno Valley HS.

The clinic is free for all IEBCA members.  Youth Coaches $20 each or $30 for the staff.

We will be concluding the clinic with a College Coach panel so you can meet the area colleges and ask questions about their respective programs.
