What is Strike baseball?
In addition to REC baseball, Jeffersontown Baseball offers competitive/travel baseball opportunities for advanced players. The Strike program is for players seeking to test themselves against elevated competition. Strike players are selected on a tryout basis.
What will Strike tryouts consist of?
Players will be running, fielding, catching, throwing, and hitting. Players should wear ball pants, cleats, and hat. They need to bring gloves, bats, and batting helmets too. Players should arrive a few minutes early for registration and warm-ups. The tryout fee is $10 per player.
What are the requirements to play Strike baseball?
Strike players are required to register and play in our REC league. Players should reside in our zip code parameters set forth by Cal Ripken to include: 40023, 40218, 40220, 40222, 40223, 40243, 40245, 40291, 40299 (Shelby County and Oldham County zip codes are acceptable as well).
What is the cost of Strike baseball?
Strike players must pay the standard REC fee for their respective division plus the Strike program fee of $175. The Strike program fee covers some games, uniforms, and indoor practice facility rental during the off-season. The Strike program fee must be paid at the time of roster acceptance.
Where do the Strike teams play?
Strike teams may participate in weeknight games locally. Strike teams also participate in tournaments hosted by Jeffersontown Baseball (e.g., Matt Anderson Classic). Managers may also choose to participate in other tournaments regionally. Entry fees and travel expenses for additional tournaments are funded by team members themselves.
