The Tigers had one of the biggest team effort victories to take game 2 of the series with Kingwood, 12-0, and to advance to the Regional Semifinals. Francisco Pena threw a complete game 3 hit shutout walking only 2 and striking out 3. The Tiger offense put on a display as all 9 started reached base successfully collecting 11 hits in the game. Offensive standouts include Mike Tanner who went 2 for 2 with a walk and a hit by pitch and a 2 run homerun, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored, Nick Carni who went 2 for 3 with a walk, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored, and Jason Helms who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored and Joel Rodriguez who went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Next up the Tigers will face Rockwall.

The Tigers defeated Kingwood 6-1 Friday night to take the opening game of the Regional Quarterfinals. Jake Jarvis threw a complete game 1 hitter allowing 1 unearned run. Jake walked 6 and hit 3 batters while striking out 10 in the effort.Defensively Jacob Rodriguez went deep in the hole to field a ground ball and throw out the runner at first in the 1st and Jason Helms running a long way to catch a foul ball in the 6th to help escape a bases loaded situation. The Tiger offense got it started in the 2nd. Nick Carni was hit by a pitch to lead of the inning. Tristan Sanders reached on an infield single. Jaared Huber laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners. Carni then scored on a passed ball. It remained 1-0 until the top of the 5th. Austin Finnigan singled with 1 out. With 2 outs in the inning Jason Helms doubled home Finnigan. The Mike Tanner doubled home Helms to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. The Mustangs made it 3-1 in the top of the 6th. In the bottom of the inning the Tigers put the game away. Joel Rodriguez singled with 1 out in the inning and then stole second base. Jacob Rodriguez then singled to score Joel. Austin Finnigan laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Jacob, Then Jarvis launched a 2 run home run making the score 6-1. The Tiger offense was led by Jake Jarvis who went 1 for 3 with a walk and a r run homerun, 2 RBIs and a run scored and Jason Helms who went 2 for 3 and a hit by pitch and 2 doubles, and RBI and a run scored. The Tigers find themselves in unusual territory winning the first game in a series for the first time in a while. Let's get it done in game 1 on Saturday so the kids can get ready for prom.

I can't use enough superlatives to describe the 2013 Klein Collins Tigers, awesome, amazing, gutsy, over-achieving, inspiring, phonomenal..... This team was not even picked to make the playoffs in one of the toughest districts in high school baseball but this team showed once again that heart and teamwork are worth way more than talent. Now this team has plenty of talent don't get me wrong but no team has more heart. After dropping a heart-breaking game 1, after dealing with a tight strike zone all day, the Tigers never said quit. The Tigers entered the bottom of the 7th inning Saturday night down 6-2 and facing elimination. It would have been easy to pack up their bags and say, we had a great year. But this team doesn't know how to do that. Even with 2 outs this team still couldn't do that. Mike Tanner led off the bottom of the 7th inning off with a walk. Cedar Ridge then recorded 2 quit outs seemingly ending the hopes of the Tigers. Then the magic happened. Jared Huber doubled to score Jonathan Silva. Joel Rodgriguez then singled followed by Jacob Rodriguez's walk to load the bases. Austin Finnigan then singled to score Huber. Jake Jarvis reached on an infield single as some how Finnigan beat the throw from shortstop to 2nd base scoring Joel. At this point the Tigers traiiled 6-5 with Jason Helms walking to the plate. In the previous inning Cedar Ridge had intentionally walked Jarvis to get to Helms and Helms was retired. This was payback time. On a 3-1 count Helms launched a towering shot to right center. Every player, coach and fan held a collective breath. But with this team, with this year, there was never a doubt as the ball sailed over the fence giving the Tigers a 9-6 victory and sending them to round 3 of the playoffs on a walk-off Grand Slam. Lance Moszkowicz got the start going 6 strong innings battling all afternoon as he couldn't get a call or 2 (LOL) to go his way. Lance allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, 4 walks and 2 hit batters while striking out 3. Austin Boyles pitched the final inning allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 1. Several Tigers has multi-hit games in the victory: Finnigan(3), Jacob(2), Jarvis(2), Huber(2), Joel(2). The Tigers will play Kingwood this next week. Go Tigers! Keep the Magical season going.

After a difficult loss the night before the Tigers did what they have done all year long, fight back. KC evened the series with Cedar Ridge Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 victory. Francisco Pena got the ball for the Tigers and pitched a complete game allowing 2 runs, only 1 earned, on 9 hits, 2 walks and a hit batter while striking out 7. The Tigders again battled out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 3rd. Pena struck out 2 batters before getting a ground out to end the inning. Defensively Jared Huber threw out 2 bases runners in the game, 1 trying to steal 3rd in the 1st and picked off another at 3rd in the 4th. Cedar Ridge opened the game with a run in the top of the 1st. The game would remain that way until the top of the 4th when Cedar Ridge pushed their lead to 2-0. In the bottom of the 4th the Tigers got the offense cranking. Jake Jarvis led off with walk and advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch. Jason Helms then drew a walk. After a change in pitchers Mike Tanner laid down a sac but advancing Jarvis and Helms. Nick Carni was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. With Tristan Sanders at the plate, a pitch barely escaped the Cedar Ridge catcher and Jarvis alertly scored and advanced Helms and Carni. Sanders then delivered a sacrifice fly to tie the ball game. After a wild pitch advanced Carni to third Joel Rodriguez brought him home on a single to give the Tigers the lead. Cedar Ridge went scoreless in the top of the 5th and in the bottom of the inning the Tigers put the game away. With 1 out Jarvis was hit by a pitch. Helms then doubled home Jarvis. With 2 outs Carni hit a 2 run homerun plating Helms. Sanders then singled. James Kuykendahl came in to pinch run. Huber then walked. Joel Rodriguez singled to load the bases. Jacob Rodriguez then singled home Kuykendahl to end the scoring. Jacob Rodriguez finished 2-3 with a hit by pitch and an RBI, Jared Huber went 2 for 2 with a walk and an RBI and Joel Rodriguez finished 2 for 3. Game 3 in 30 minutes.

The Tigers dropped the opening game of the Area Playoffs 4-3 on a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 7th on Friday night against Cedar Ridge. The Tigers took an early lead. Jacob Rodriguez singled to open up the game. Austin Finnigan sacrificed him to second. Jake Jarvis then smoked a line drive 2 run homerun over the left field fence making the score 2-0 after 1. Jarvis got the start on the mound and worked through base traffic all day. Jakes final line was 3 runs allowed on 7 hits, 4 walks and a hit by pitch while striking out 5 in 6 innings of work. The score remained 2-0 until the top of the 5th inning where Jared Huber launched a solo shot right at the scoreboard in left field giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Cedar Ridge battled back in the bottom of the 5th scoring 2 runs of their own. Cedar Ridge tied the game in the bottom of the 6th. In the top of the 6th the Tigers were retired in order. Lance Moszkowicz came in to pitch the 7th inning. Then with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, Cedar Ridge connected on a walk off shot sending the Tigers reeling. The Tigers played solid defense all night and did not commit an error. They also had double play by Mike Tanner as he snagged a very hard hit line drive and doubled off the runner at first in the 2nd. Then Jarvis battled out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 3rd. Jarvis struck a batter out then started a 1-2-3 double play from Jarvis to Huber to Tanner. Game 2 will be played on Saturday in the same location.

The Tigers connected on a season high 4 home runs to defeat College Park 14-2 in the deciding game three match-up at Klein Collins on Saturday afternoon. Lance Moszkowicz pitched the complete game going 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, 1 walk and a hit batter while striking out 7. Defensively the Tigers made a couple more nice plays in the game including Mike Tanner snagging a hard hit line drive to end a Cavalier's threat in the 4th and a 6-3 double play from Jacob Rodriguez to Tanner in the 6th. Nick Carni connected on the first bomb when he hit a 2 run shot in the top of the first to cap a 5 run inning. Jason Helms hit a 3 run shot in the top of the 2nd. Jake Jarvis hit a 2 run shot in the top of the 3rd and Jonathan Silva hit a solo shot to lead off the 4th inning. Mike Tanner went 4 for 4 in the game with an RBI and 3 runs scored. KC will advance to play Cedar Ridge. Congratulations Tigers!!!

Klein Collins bounced back on Friday night with a 3-1 win of their own to even up the series at a game a piece and to force a deciding game 3 Saturday afternoon at 4:00 at Klein Collins. Jake Jarvis pitched the complete game allowing 1 run on 4 hits, 2 walks and a hit by pitch. The Tiger offense put up 3 runs in the top of the first and made it hold up. Jacob Rodriguez led off the first with a double. Austin Finnigan then singled home Jacob. Jake Jarvis then singled followed by Jason Helms and Mike Tanner each with RBI singles scoring Finnigan and Jarvis. College Park would score their run in the third to end the scoring. Austin Finnigan led the Tiger offense going 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. The Tigers again made several nice defensive plays in the game. Jared Huber threw out his second runner in the series as he threw out the Cavalier's player trying to steal 2nd in the 2nd. Jacob Rodriguez played a ball off of Jarvis and threw out the runner at first in the 4th. There was a tremendous 4-6-3 double play in the 6th from Finnigan to Rodriguez to Tanner. Good luck Tigers.

The Tigers fell to College Park Thursday night 3-1 to open the 2013 playoffs. Francisco Pena got the start going 5 strong innings allowing only 1 run on 4 hits and a hit by pitch while striking out 1. Chris Suarez pitched the final 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. The Tiger offense could not get anything going scoring their only run in the 6th on a bases loaded walk by Joel Rodriguez. The Tigers D was a little loose committing 3 errors but also had a couple of highlights. The Tigers escaped a bases loaded jam in the 2nd. Mike Tanner fielded a ground ball and threw out the runner at home. With 1 out Jake Jarvis caught a popped up bunt attempt and beat the runner from third back to the bag to complete the double play. In the 6th inning Jared Huber threw out a runner trying to steal 2nd. The Tigers will be on the ropes in game 2 tomorrow night at College Park.

The Tigers defeated Westfield Friday night 11-1 to complete the 2013 District play season finishing with a 14-2 record. Lance Moszkowicz got the start going 2 perfect innings striking out 3 of the 6 batters he faced. Jake Jarvis pitched 1 inning allowing 1 run and striking out 1. Austin Boyles pitched the next 2 scoreless innings also striking out 3 of the 6 batters he faced. Boyles allowed 1 base runner but he was thrown out trying to steal 2nd by Jared Huber. Brian Reed closed out the game pitching the 6th inning and allowing only a hit batter to reach base striking out 1. Jacob Rodriguez, Jason Helms and Joel Rodriguez all went 2 for 3 in the game. Jacob scored a run, Jason drove in 3 and scored twice and Joel scored twice. Next up is playoffs.

The Tigers defeated Klein Oak Monday evening 12-4 to secure the 13-5A District Title. It is the Tiger's first District title since 2009. Francisco Pena got the start going 6 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. Chris Suarez pitched the 7th inning allowing no base runners and striking out 1. Defensively the Tigers got a couple of nice plays from their outfield as Jason Helms ran down a ball in right center in the 4th and Joel Rodriguez made an acrobatic catch in deep center in the 6th. Tristan Sanders connected on his second home run of the year (both of them grand slams, way to maximize the long ball). Jacob Rodriguez, Jakes Jarvis, Jason Helms, Mike Tanner, Payton Yost and Jared Huber each had 2 hits in the game. The Tigers will finish up district play on Friday night at Westfield. Then it is on to the playoffs starting next week.

The Tigers threw their second consecutive no hitter on Friday night, this one behind Jake Jarvis as the Tigers defeated Atascocita 6-3. As he has done all year, Jarvis kept the Eagles off balance allowing only 4 batters to reach base and retiring 16 straight batters during 1 stretch. Jarvis's final line was 7 innings pitched allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 2 walks. The other 2 runners reached on a dropped third strike and an error. The game strated a little sloppy by both teams. Offensively the Tigers got the scoring started in the top of the first. Jarvis reached on a 2 out error. Jason Helms then doubled home Jarvis. In the second Tristan Sanders reached on a 1 out error. Jared Huber moved him to third and Sanders scored on an error allowing Joel Rodriguez to reach. After the 2nd the defenses would settle down. The teams went scoreless in the 3rd, 4th and 5th and then the Tigers would break open the game. Jarvis led off with a double. Helms walked. Mike Tanner singled home Jarvis. With 2 outs Huber walked to load the bases. Then with the game late and tight, Joel Rodriguez stepped to the plate and did what he has done so often theis year. Joel delivered a 2 RBI double giving the Tigers a 5-1 lead. In the top of the 7th Austin Finnigan was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Jarvis singled advancing Finnigan to third. Helms reached on a fielder's choice plating Finnigan. The Eagles would at 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to end the scoring. Jarvis led the offense going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. With the win the Tigers are 1 win away or a Klein loss away from capturing the 13-5A District Title. The Tigers hope to claim that title at home on Monday evening against Klein Oak. Chris Suarez and Austin Boyles threw a combined no-hitter on Tuesday night against Klein Forest. The final score was 18-0 in the run-rule effort by the Tigers. Suarez pitched 3 innings allowing only 1 walk and a runner reached on an error but he faced the minimum as the Tigers picked off runners on 3rd and 2nd on the same play. Suarez struck out 5 in the game. Boyles pitched the final 2 innings striking out the side in both innings allowing only 2 walks. The final 11 outs of the game were recorded by strikeout. Offensively the Tigers exploded for 15 hits. The Tigers also recorded 3 home runs, all in 1 inning. Dylan Herring started it off with a lead off home run in the bottom of the 4th. Jacob Rodriguez then went back to back on a towering shot. Later in the inning Tristan Sanders connected on a grand slam to cap the scoring for the Tigers. Next up the Tigers are at Atascocita Friday night in a game with tremendous implications on the 13-5A playoff picture.

The Tigers fell to Kingwood 7-4 Saturday afternoon to end their 10 game win streak and to tighten up the 13-5A race. Kingwood opened up with 5 runs in the bottom of the first and the Tigers battled back getting it to 5-4 at one point but the Mustangs put the game away with 2 insurance runs in the 6th. Francisco Pena got the start and went 4 innings allowing 5 runs, only 2 earned, on 4 hits and 5 walks while striking out 4. Lance Moszkowicz pitched the final 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks and a hit batter while striking out 1. The Tigers had a couple of misqueues defensively but also made a couple of nice plays including a 5-2-3 double play in the first from Jake Jarvis to Jared Huber to Mike Tanner and a  4-6-3 double play in the 5th from Austin Finnigan to Jacob Rodriguez to Tanner. Offensively the Tigers were led by Mike Tanner who finished 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, a walk 3 RBIs and a run scored. Payton Yost also finished 2 for 3 with an RBI. The Tigers will try to start a new streak on Tuesday night at home against Klein Forest.

The Tigers won their 10th consecutive game on Friday night on another gutsy come from behind performance again walk-off style. Jake Jarvis pitched yet another masterful game going all 7 innings allowing only 2 first inning runs. The final line for Jarvis was 2 runs on 7 hits, 4 walks and a hit batter. The Tiger D was a little loose in the first but then settled down and made play after play as the game progressed. In the 3rd inning Joel Rodriguez ran down a deep fly ball to left, Austin Finnigan alertly gets the lead runner in the 4th to keep him from reaching third, Jarvis pitching out of a 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs and bases loaded 1 out situations in the 6th including 2 huge strikeouts and Kyle Saul snagging a hard line drive to 3rd and doubling off the runner at first in the top of the 7th. Offensively the Tigers were held at bay until the 6th when it was Joel Rodriguez time. Once again this kid delivers when the game is on the line. With 1 out in the 6th Joel "singled" to left center but that wasn't good enough for him. All year his bit hits have been doubles so in Joel style, he stretched his single into a double exciting the Tiger bench and scaring the Tiger faithful. Joel advanced to 3rd on a groundout for the 2nd out of the inning. Payton Yost then came in to pinch hit. Joel scored on a passed ball. Yost drew a wallk. Finnigan came in to pinch run for Yost and advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch. Jarvis then hit an infield single to advance Finnigan to 3rd. The Klein pitcher then balked to score Finnigan. Game tied 2-2. That setup the bottom of the 7th. Nick Carni singled with 1 out. Carni stole 2nd and 3rd. Klein recorded the 2nd out in the inning bringing Jared Huber to the plate. Huber hit a slow roller to short who fielded the ball but could not make the throw allowing Huber to reach plating Carni for the winning run. The win was the 2nd this season against Klein and gives the Tigers a 2 game lead in the 13-5A district race. 

Austin Boyles and Chris Suarez combined on a 1 hit shutout Tuesday night to down Dekaney 14-0. Boyles went 3 innings allowing 1 hit and 3 walks while striking out 3. Suarez pitched the final 2 innings hitting 1 and walking 1 while striking out 5. Offensively all 9 starters reached base safely. Nick Carni connected on his team leading 3rd homerun of the season. He finished with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Mike Tanner connected on a 3 run blast in the 2nd. Jake Jarvis finished 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a sac fly, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Jason Helms was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run. Austin Finnigan went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Joel Rodriguez finished 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored.

The Tigers defeated Spring Saturday afternoon by a final score of 18-0 to avenge their only district loss. Jake Jarvis pitched the shortened complete game taking a no hitter into the top of 5th. The lead off hitter spoiled the chances for that feat. In the shutout Jarvis allowed the 1 hit and 3 walks. Jarvis has now pitched 18 consecutive innings of shutout baseball. His last run allowed was in the first Spring game. Several Tigers had big days at the plate. They include Mike Tanner went 3-4 with 6RBIs and a run scored, Jake Jarvis went 3-4 with 3RBIs and 2 runs scored, Austin Finnigan went 2-3 with a walk 2RBIs and 4 runs scored, Jacob Rodriguez went 2-3 with a hit by pitch 2RBIs and 2 runs scored, and Jarod Huber wnet 2-3 with 2RBIs and 2 runs scored. Defensive highlights include a 6-4-3 double play from Rodriguez to Finnigan to Tanner and a great short-hop scoop at 3rd by Kyle Saul and throwing the runner out at first. Next up for the Tigers is at Dekaney. We want to thank all of the future Tigers who came out and escorted the Tigers on the field and ran the bases during the game for our first Tigers Cub Club game.

The Tigers were on the ropes Thurday evening against Westfield but a big blow from Joel Rodriguez leads the Tigers to a victory 8-4. Westfield scored 1 run in top of the first for an early lead. KC bounced back with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Austin Finnigan reached on a 1 out walk. Jake Jarvis then reached on an error. Jason Helms singled to score Finnigan. Mike Tanner singled to score Jarvis. Westfield added 2 more in the top of the 2nd to take the lead. Westfield would add an insurance run in the top of the 5th for a 4-2 lead. The Westfield pitcher kept the Tigers offense quiet all night until the bottom of the 6th. Tristan Sanders and Jared Huber each reached on a 1 out walk bring Joel Rodriguez to the plate and as he has done many times this year, he delivered the big hit as he doubled home Kyle Saul who was pinch running for Sanders. Jacob Rodriguez then walked. Austin Finnigan had an infield single to score Huber and the throw got away from the 2nd baseman scoring Joel. Jacob caught the infielders sleeping and stole home on the play. After the 2nd out was recorded, Jason Helms tripled to score Finnigan. Tanner singled to score Helms. The Tigers closed it out in the top of the 7th. Jason Helms finished the game 3-4 with a triple, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Mike Tanner went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Austin Boyles got the start going 2 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2. Chris Suarez pitched 2+ innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 2. Lance Moszkowicz pitched the final 3 innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and a hit batter while striking out 5. With the victory the Tigers enter the half way point with a District leading 7-1 record. The 2nd half picks up next Thursday against our only District loss, Spring.

The Tigers defeated Klein Oak 11-2 Tuesday night winning their 6th consecutive district game courtesy of a big night from Jake Jarvis. Jarvis went 6 scoreless innings on the mound allowing only 3 hits, walking 1 and hitting 1 while striking out 7. Jarvis also went 4 for 5 at the plate with a homerun, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Nick Carni also connected on his 2nd homerun of the season on a solo no doubter in the 7th. Jason Helms also contributed going 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and a walk. Jacob Rodriguez finished 3 for 5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Lance Moszkowicz pitched the final inning allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 hit batter. Defensive highlights include a 6-3 double play from Jacob to Mike Tanner in the 5th and a 4-6-3 double play to end the game from Austin Finnigan to Jacob to Tanner. Next up Westfield on Thursday night.

The Tigers rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to defeat Atascocita 4-3 on a walk off double by Jake Jarvis. Atascocita took a 2-0 in the top of the 2nd inning. KC cut the deficit in half in the 5th. Tristan Sanders doubled to lead off the inning. Joel Rodriguez hit a one out double to score Sanders. The Eagles added an insurance run in the top of the 7th on a solo home run. Then in the bottom of the 7th the rally started. Sanders was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Then with 1 out Joel doubled again advancing the pinch runner, Kyle Dykeman, to 3rd. Jacob Rodriguez then singled home Dykeman cutting the lead in half. Austin Finnigan hit a sacrifice fly scoring Joel to tie the game. Jarvis then worked the count full. With a 3-2 count with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, Jarvis doubled to score Jacob. KC Wins!!!! Joel led the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 doubles an RBI and a run scored. Francisco Pena got the start going 5 plus innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 8. Lance Moszkowicz pitched the final 2 innings allowing 1 run on a solo homerun in the top of the 7th. Lance came in with 2 runners on in the top of the 6th with no outs and stranded both runners. With the win the Tigers are in sole possession of 1st place in the District. We are tied at 5-1 with Klein but hold the tie break courtesy of the 3-2 victory over Klein. The Tigers defeated Klein Forest 22-3 in 5 innings Friday night to move into a 4 way tie for 1st place in District. Fourteen Tigers reached base successfully. The Tigers went back to back in the 5th as Jason Helms connected on a 3 run blast followed by Jonathan Silva's solo line drive shot. Austin Boyles pitched 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 7. Brian Reed pitched the final inning allowing 1 walk and striking out 2.

The Tigers defeated Kingwood 4-0 on Tuesday night behind a complete game 1-hit shutout by Jake Jarvis. Jarvis allowed only an infield single, 2 walks and 1 runner reached base on an error. Jarvis faced only 2 over the minimum as the Tiger D turned 2 double plays. The first one came in the 5th, 5-4-3, from Kyle Saul to Austin Finnigan to Mike Tanner. The second one came in the 6th, a 4-6-3, from Finnigan to Jacob Rodriguez to Tanner. Offensively the Tigers scored 3 runs in the 4th. Tanner reached on a 1 out single. Nick Carni then reached on an error. Jared Huber reached on a 2 out walk to load the bases. A passed ball allowed Tanner to score and the runners to advance. Joel Rodriguez then doubled home Carni and Huber. The Tigers added an insurance run in the 5th. Finnigan singled with 1 out and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Then with 2 outs Jason Helms delivered an RBI single scoring Finnigan. Joel Rodriguez and Mike Tanner each finished 2 for 3 in the game to lead the offense. Joel had 2 RBIs and Mike scored a run. The Tigers push their district record to 3-1 with the win.

The Tigers made 3 early runs hold up as they played stellar defense behind solid pitching to beat Klein 3-2 on Friday night. The win pushes the Tigers' district record to 2-1. The Tigers got the scoring started in the top of the 1st as Jacob Rodriguez led off with a single.  Austin Finnigan sacrificed him to second. Jason Helms delivered a 2 out single to score Rodriguez. The Tigers tacked on in the top of the 2nd. Tristan Sanders was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Jared Huber then doubled to the right field gap short hopping the wall. With 1 out Jacob had an infield single to score Sanders. Finnigan then had an infield single to load the bases. Jake Jarvis hit a sacrifice fly to score Huber. Klein would score 1 in the bottom of the 2nd and the game remained that way until Klein added another run in the bottom of the 6th to end the scoring. The Tigers were led by Jacob who was 3 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Defensively the Tigers made plays all night. It started in the top of the 1st as Helms laid out to catch a ball in right center. In the 2nd the Tigers got out of a first and third, 1 out jam with a 4-6-3 double play from Finnigan to Jacob to Mike Tanner. Finnigan made another play on a slow roller that he was able to field and flip to first for the third out in the 6th. In the 7th inning with the game on the line the Tigers showed a little more. Nick Carni ran down a fly ball in deep right center convering a lot of ground. Then Jacob put the cap on his night with a diving catch in the hole to end the game. The pitching tonight was phenomenal. Francisco Pena got the start going 5 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, 2 walks and a hit batter while striking out 4. Lance Moszkowics pitched the final 1 2/3 innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and had 1 strikeout. Great win Tigers!!!

KC defeated Dekaney 10-0 in 5 innings Thursday night to even up their district record. Nine Tigers successfully reached base in the game. Austin Finnigan and Jake Jarvis each finished 2 for 4. Finnigan had 1 RBI and 2 runs scored and Jarvis finished with 3 RBIs and a run scored. On the mound Austin Boyles pitched a complete game 1 hit shutout. Boyles walked 2 and hit one while striking out 8. The play of the game came in the third inning as Jacob Rodriguez dove for a ball deep in the hole and got up and threw out the batter at first base. Next up the Tigers will face the 16-0 Klein Bearkats Friday night at Klein.

The Tigers fell to Atascocita by a score of 6-3 to finish the Langham Creek Tournament 3-1. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as Mike Tanner reached on a 1 out walk. Jared Huber then singled. Jacob Rodriguez then singled home Tanner. Atascocita tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd, took the lead with another run in the 4th and then extended the lead scoring 4 in the 5th. The Tigers added 2 more runs in the 6th. Jason Helms led off with a walk. With 1 out Nick Carni drew a walk. Mike Tanner then doubled home Helms. Ricky Urbano then drove in Carni. Mike Tanner reached base successfully in all 3 plate appearances to lead the offense. Chris Suarez got the start going 5 innings allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks and a hit by pitch while striking out 5. Kyle Dykeman pitched the 6th inning allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and induced a 4-6-3 double play. Back to district play next Thursday.

The Tigers defeated La Porte Friday night by a final score of 3-2 courtesy of a based loaded walk off squeeze play in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Tigers scoring got started in the second when Nick Carni led off with a double. Mike Tanner reached base on an error. With 1 out Jared Huber singled in Carni and Tanner. La Porte added 2 runs of their own in the top of the 4th. The game went tied 2-2 into the bottom of the 7th. Tanner led off the inning with a walk. Joel Rodriguez laid down a bunt single. With 1 out in the inning and after a wild pitch to advance the runners, La Porte intentially walked Jacob Rodriguez to setup the force at every base. Austin Finnigan came up and laid down the bunt scoring Tanner. Joel finished 2 for 2 in the game with a run scored. On the mound Francisco Pena held La Porte to 2 runs over 6 innings of work. Paco allowed only 3 hits, walked 4 and hit 2 while striking out 8. Kyle Dykeman pitched a perfect 7th inning striking out 1 batter. Defensive highlights include a 4-3 double play from Finnigan to Tanner in the 3rd and Huber throwing out and picking off a base runner both in the 5th inning.

The Tigers batted around in the fourth inning Thursday night to score all 8 of their runs in an 8-4 victory over Memorial. Nick Carni led off the 4th inning with a single. Mike Tanner then walked. Austin Boyles doubled to right center scoring Carni. Jacob Rodriguez then hit a sacrifice fly to score Tanner. After Memorial recorded the second out, the 2 out rally began. Jake Jarvis singled to score Boyles. Jason Helms was hit by a pitch and Peyton Yost drew a walk to load the bases. Just like the previous game earlier today, Coach Carlos went to his bench to call on Johnathan Silva and he delivered again with a single plating both Jarvis and Helms. Carni then put an exclamation point on the inning with his second hit of the inning, this one a three run blast to left field. Carni finished the game 3 for 3 with a walk, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored to lead the offense. Austin Boyles got the start going 6 strong innings allowing only 4 runs to the potent Memorial offense. Boyles allowed 6 hits, walked 2 and hit 2, and struck out 9 batters. Brian Reed closed the ballgame in the 7th allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and a walk while striking out 1.

The Tigers defeated George Ranch 8-5 in the day game to open up the tournament. The Tiger scoring got started in the bottom of the 1st. Jacob Rodriguez led off the game with a single. Austin Finnigan laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance him to second. Jake Jarvis then singled to put runners on the corners. Jason Helms then doubled in Rodriguez and Jarvis. Peyton Yost singled to score Helms and give the Tigers a 3-2 lead after 1 inning. The game would remain 3-2 until the bottom of the 5th when the Tigers offense went back top work. With 1 out in the inning Finnigan and Jarvis singled. After the second out Yost was hit by a pitch. Jonathan Silva came off the bench to deliver a bases clearing triple. Nick Carni then singled home Silva. The Tigers final run came off a Chris Suarez double scoring Carni. Geroge Ranch had a homerun in the 6th and scored 2 more in the 7th to finish the scoring. Jarvis finished the game 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Lance Moszkowics went 6 innings allowing 3 runs with 5 strikeouts. Hunter Strawn pitched the final inning allowing 2 runs with 1 strikeout.

The Tigers dropped their first district game to the Spring Lions Tuesday night by a final score of 2-1. The KC offense struggled to get anything going all night until the final inning where they were finally able to push across a run. The offense was led by Jacob Rodriguez and Jake Jarvis each collecting 2 hits and Jake driving in Jacob for the only run of the game for the Tigers. On the mound Jake got the start going 4 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs, only 1 earned, on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 1 hit batter while striking out 5. Francisco Pena pitched the final 1 2/3 retiring 4 of the 5 batters he faced giving up a walk and striking out 1.
