Simke, Martin named OIWFA all-stars

Congratulations to Amanda Simke and Mallory Martin who were named the Lancer Fastball MVP's for the 2016 season and subsequently named to the OIWFA All Star Team.

Amanda Simke captured player of the week honors in the first week of the OIWFA season and led the Lancers in offence and pitching. From that point on, Amanda never looked back leading the team in all offensive categories. A cagy veteran who led the team by example on the field, was quick to motivate her team with positive talk off the field all season long.

Mallory Martin was converted to the position of catcher out of need at the beginning of the season and then led this team's defence. A first year player to the Lancer's, Martin quickly established herself as the defensive captain on the field. Mallory always gave 110%, never complained, did anything that the team asked, and has a Blue and Gold heart.

Well-done and most deserved by both of these Lancers having been selected from an outstanding group of young talented athletes.
