THERE WILL BE A MEETING JAN 31 AT WARREN TOWNSHIP, GURNEE, IL 7pm.
BAT RULES FOR 2012 Per the Illinois State Rep with USSSA baseball: Bat rules for ages 10U to 14U will not have a one year grandfather rule. Starting with the 2012 season all bats will need to be the new BBCOR standard. LCBL-MM will not follow this rule and make the BBCOR mandatory for 2012 but will make the new BBCOR mandatory for 2013. As for guidance on buying a new bat today, that is up to the player and team to decide. If you believe as some do, that a bat only lasts a year, buy whatever fits the needs today. If you'd like the bat to last more than a year, make sure the bat you’re buying has the new BBCOR stamp.
We had a great 2011 season with every age group showing growth. Thank you to all the coaches, players and fans that made the league so much fun this year. Congratulations to our league winners: 10U Lake Villa Venom, 11U East Mundelein Missiles, 11U West Antioch Sequoits, 12U East Libertyville Black, 12U West Libertyville Orange, 13U American NSBA Hawks, 13U Nationals Lake Villa Hawks and 14U Lake Villa Storm. We look forward to an even better 2012! Stay tuned for an announcement regarding our upcoming "Informational Meeting"
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~Rogers Hornsby
If you have questions or are interested in learning more about our league, please send me an email and I will forward it to your age groups coordinator.
Thank you for your continued support and for allowing us to help you make this the best league possible.

"The spirit, the will to win and the will to excel, these are the things that endure and these are the qualities that are so much more important than any of the events that occasion them." ~Vincent Lombardi~
If you’re a new coach or a team new to our league and would like to be added to the email distribution list for the 2011 season, please send an email telling me your name, your teams name and your teams age level along with your contact information to: tblair40@comcast.net.
LCBL-MM does not locate teams for individual players. As a league we facilitate play for travel teams. If you are looking for a team for your son to play on I would suggest that you contact your local park district or local youth baseball club to find out the details you are looking for. Thanks.

In 1968, following the loss of his 12-year-old son to an asthma attack, Lou Lindebaum started Mike's Memorial Bronco League. Each year, the Mike's Memorial Award is given to a player within the league who best exemplifies good sportsmanship and fair play. The tradition of the Award lives on, and today, through the dedication and commitment of volunteers, the league has evolved into the Lake County Baseball League.
