A quick "thank you" note
We received a heartfelt note from Maria Bereschak and Family recently, and they graciously agreed to share their comments...
Just a quick note from our family to thank each of you for your tireless commitment to LLL. We have enjoyed being part of the LLL experience since Jack was in 2nd grade. He played his final game on these fields we've become so familiar with over the last 5 years yesterday evening in the majors championship as a 6th grader. What a fun way to put a bow on his final season!
He's developed as a player as a result of the coaching he's gotten over the years in the league. He's developed as a person as a result of the positive culture his coaches have built within their teams over the years. Jack's made friends with some wonderful kids and we've gotten to know some great families while sharing the grand stand watching baseball together.
We will look back on the many hours of sitting on the bleachers as a family, working the snack stand or prepping the fields with a genuine smile and a sense of gratitude to all of you who helped make LLL the well organized baseball league it is today.
Jack will be moving to Connie Mack next season which is a reflection of how LLL reinforced his love of baseball and prepared him for the next level of competition.
Have a terrific summer and THANK YOU.
-Maria, John, Danielle and Jack Bereschak (Go Razorbacks!)
Lansdale Little League "First"
Lansdale Little League earned a "first" on Saturday May 8th 2011. Several years into interleague play with Hatfield Little League, Lansdale broke through when the H&M NetWorks Razorbacks upended Hatfield Royal Blue 4-3 at the Lansdale Little League complex on Moyer Rd., in Lansdale. Ryan O'Neill staked the home team to a 2-0 lead with a homerun to left in the second. Thanks to solid pitching performances by Van Henkels, who also went 3-3 at the plate, Alex Gilbert and O'Neill, the Razorbacks took a 3-1 lead into the 6th. Royal Blue took advantage of a couple of defensive miscues to even the count at 3-3. That set the stage for late heroics by Jack Bereschak who knocked in Allen Voung with the game winner in the bottom half of the frame. Congratulations to the Razorbacks!
"Day with the Phillies" means $ to LLL!
500 friends of Lansdale Little League took in the May 7, 2011 Phillies game with the Atlanta Braves and helped their favorite little league at the same time!
Lansdale Little League sold more than 500 tickets to the game, one of the Phillies' annual Youth Day celebrations at Citizens Bank Park! Prior to the game, little leaugers who show up in uniform get to parade around the field with their coaches and get the same field level view the 2010 NL East Champions get every game! This exciting day also helps fill the league's coffers as the Phillies rebate a portion of each ticket to Lansdale Little League.
Also prior to the game, league coaches and players take part in a "tailgate party" in the parking lot between Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Field. Keep your ears open for the "unofficial" fun as well!! As you can see from the pictures from the 2010 event, it's one of the league's annual highlight events!
Modells partnership with Lansdale Little League offsets some equipment spending!
Lansdale Little League parents who spent money on their players baseball equipment at the Montgomeryville Modells helped Lansdale Little League earn a check for almost $500 from the sporting goods chain! A part of the Team Weeks program, LLL gets a percentage of the money spent at Modells by LLL parents and friends during a four week period in March and early April. Participants since 2009, Lansdale Little League has been the beneficiary of thousands of dollars from Modells.
In 2011 the LLL spend was more than $9,000. Friends of LLL also get a discount when they purchase their equipment, making this a "win-win" for the league, it's families and Modells!
Lansdale Little League thanks Modells for their past and future support!
