2018 Team Application

Welcome to the Home of the

Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association

We are now accepting applications for the

The 56th Annual Lake Placid International Youth Hockey tournament will be held from Thursday Feb. 22nd to Sunday Feb. 25th.  Tournament games will start at 1 or 2 pm on Thursday so all teams should be prepared to play at that time.
Our tournament will offer Squirt A, Squirt B, Peewee A, Peewee B, Bantam A and Bantam B divisions.  These divisions will be Tier II and Tier III town teams.  In addition, our Mite Jamboree will be held on Saturday Feb. 24th in the USA rink.
Our tournament will consist of a 4 game guarantee.  The entry fee for all Squirt, Peewee and Bantam teams is $1,000.00. The arena charges a gate fee that all parents must pay.  Players and siblings under the age of 16 have free admittance.
Important note:  During our 2018 tournament the United States Olympic Committee will be hosting a dinner event on Friday Feb. 23rd in the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.  This dinner is being put on by the United States Olympic Committee to celebrate the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics taking place from Feb. 9th to Feb. 25th, 2018.  Therefore we will lose approximately 7 or 8 game slots on the 1980 rink during that Friday.  Unfortunately, at this time we do not have all of the details.  We will try our best to have all teams play one game on the 1980 rink and information will be passed along as soon as it is provided to our organizing committee.    Also, in an effort to keep our tournament the same size as if previous years, therefore allowing associations to bring multiple teams to our tournament, we may play some games in Saranac Lake, NY (about 10 miles away) on that Friday.
Teams are welcome to start submitting their applications on Saturday August 19th.  To submit your application please click on the link  on the top right corner of  this page.  Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed by our committee.  If your team is accepted into our tournament we will notify you with an acceptance letter.  In the instance that our committee feels that a team does not fit in one of our divisions will we reply to the applicant via email with an explanation.
