Uniform Return and Picture Distribution

WE WILL BE HOLDING UNIFORM RETURN AND PICTURE DISTRIBUTION ON THURSDAY, 12/7 FROM 6 TO 7PM AT WILLIAM FLOYD ELEMENTARY.

Unfortunately, due to all the school concerts and holiday events going on in the schools, this will most likely be the only uniform return/picture distribution before the new year.

Please use the same entrance the girls used for practice and follow all parking rules.

Please DO NOT arrive before 6pm.

You must return your daughters shell and skirt before we will give you your pictures.  If you don't bring the uniform, you will not be given your pictures.

If you got digital pictures or didn't order pictures, you MUST still return the uniform during uniform return.

You will not be able to register for the 2024 season if your uniform is not returned.

ALL UNIFORMS FROM THE 2023 SEASON MUST BE RETURNED!

Please remember you signed the registration form at the start of the season that states all uniforms (shell and skirt) are property of Lynvet Cheerleading and will be returned at seasons end.  If you don't return the uniform, you will be billed for it.

The Lynvet Cheer Store is now CLOSED.

Indoor Practice & Competition Schedule & Due Dates

This letter is to better inform you about competitions and indoor practices.  First and foremost being part of a Lynvet Competition team is a very big commitment.  Starting on September 1st, you will only be allowed three excused absences from practice and you MUST attend ALL Competitions, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you miss the practice before a competition for any reason, your child WILL NOT be able to compete that weekend.

ALL TEAMS practices will remain outside on the field at WFE on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 7:30pm through Thursday, 9/7. Thursday, 9/7 will be the last practice outside on the field.  Please try and arrive for pick up at outdoor practices by 7:20pm, it is starting to get dark earlier and earlier and we would like to leave the field promptly at 7:30pm.

There is NO PRACTICE ON TUESDAY, 8/29 or TUESDAY, 9/5.  On 8/29 the coaches, coordinators and team moms have a safety clinic and 9/5 is the night before the first day of school.

The indoor practice schedule for the 2023 season will be as follows: Indoor practices are scheduled to start on Monday, September 11th

Monday & Wednesday nights– 6 and 14 yr old teams from 6 to 8pm at William Floyd Elementary

Tuesday & Thursday nights –  8 yr old team from 6 to 8pm at Woodhull Elementary

Tuesday & Thursday nights – 10 yr old team from 6 to 8pm at William Floyd Elementary

Due to meet the teacher nights at the elementary schools, holidays and school being closed some days during the season, there are a few times where the practice schedule has to be changed.

Please read over the calendar carefully for those dates.  The calendars were emailed, they are also on the website under LV Calendar.

ALL INDOOR PRACTICES ARE CLOSED TO ALL EXCEPT COORDINATORS, COACHES AND TEAM MOMS.  You will drop off and pick up your child from the team mom at the entrance of practice. You will receive an email about parking procedures at the different schools.  ALL PARKING RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED!

If your daughter is new to Lynvet and/or didn’t cheer for the 2022 season, we will need a COPY of her birth certificate by September 20th (6 & 14 yr old teams) or September 22nd (8 & 10 yr old teams).  Without a copy of her birth certificate she will not be allowed to take the mat at competition.

Lindenhurst - Sunday, November 5th

Brentwood – Saturday, November 11th

Sachem – Sunday, November 12th

SCYCA Finals - Sunday, November 19th

Please remember this is a VERY TENTATIVE schedule… Most of these leagues have not gotten school approval yet.  There could be more dates added, some dates could change and/or be taken away and all teams may not be attending all the competitions.  If you know now this is a commitment you and/or your daughter cannot make, please let your team moms know as soon as possible.

Lynvet will provide each cheerleader with a shell and skirt to use for the season.  ALL SHELLS AND SKIRTS ARE PROPERTY OF LYNVET CHEER AND MUST BE RETURNED PROMPTLY AT SEASONS END.  If you loose or damage your shell or skirt you will have to pay to replace it.  We ask that you wash your child's uniform after each time it is worn.  You will receive information on uniform care at a later date.

Your competition fee will be:  $100.00 per cheerleader

This fee will purchase crop, briefs, socks & hair bows.  These items will be yours to keep after the competition season ends.  These items are not to be worn for school, leisure, etc… until after the season is over.

Every cheerleader MUST provide their own cheer sneakers.  Sneakers MUST be ALL WHITE, CHEER sneakers. Once we are inside for practice, ALL girls should wear their cheer sneakers to practice only, please do not allow them to wear them to school, for leisure, etc...  It is very important that they stay clean for use on the competition hosts cheer mats.  Please label the inside of each sneaker with your daughters first and last name.

The competition fee is due by Friday, September 22nd.  If paying cash, please enclose the exact amount in an envelope with your child’s first & last name and team age on the front.  If paying by check, please make checks payable to LYNVET & put your daughters first & last name on the memo line.  After 9/22 we will no longer accept checks, only cash will be accepted, and your daughter will not be able to receive her competition essentials until the fee is paid in full.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.  We are looking forward to a great season!

Just a reminder…You can find all this seasons cheer information on our website, www.leaguelineup.com/lvjcheer, please check it often.  If you are not receiving our emails, please email us at LVJCheer1@aol.com and let us know.  Please include your daughter’s name in the email.

Start of the 2023 Season

If you are a returning Lynvet member and did not return your uniform from 2022, YOU MUST DO SO AT THE FIRST PRACTICE.

Welcome to the 2023 season of Lynvet Cheerleading.  Please read this entire email, as it contains VERY IMPORTANT information from the first line all the way to the last!

Practices will start for all girls on Tuesday, July 11th on the field at William Floyd Elementary, 6pm sharp. Summer practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights on the field from 6-7:30pm.  ALL summer practices are weather permitting.  If it should be raining you will receive an email canceling practice and it will also be posted on the web site.  While practices are outside on the field you are welcome to stay and watch if you would like.  We ask that you not sit right on top of the kids, please keep a distance between yourself and the team.  We also ask that you not call your child over to you during practice time and you not go over to them.  Please send them over to their team with their water bottles and anything else they may need.  And if you bring children, besides your cheerleader(s), with you please watch them.  Lynvet is not responsible for any children on the field besides those registered to Lynvet Cheerleading.  MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE ARE NO BATHROOMS AT THE FIELD.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD USES THE BATHROOM BEFORE THEY COME TO PRACTICE. If you have any questions regarding practice feel free to email us at LVJCheer1@aol.com.

We will have 4 teams this season.  A 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11-14.  All teams will be referred too by the oldest age, so they will be the 6's, 8's, 10's and 14's.

We will be sending out a VERY IMPORTANT parent email within first few weeks of practice.  It is important that you read this, very long, email as it will discuss the rules, competitions, games, practices, coaches, team moms, how the season will run, etc...

Team moms will be doing crop and brief sizing at summer practices.  We are hoping to be able to get sizing done as soon as possible.  Some stuff is taking a really long time to come, so the earlier the better.

This season, as we did last season, parents will be responsible for providing cheer sneakers for your child.  Every Lynvet cheerleader must have a pair of ALL White CHEER sneakers to be worn for competition.  Your child must have their cheer sneakers by the time we start indoor practices (the beginning of September).  We will provide you with more information about where to purchase cheer sneakers soon.

In order to cheer safely certain rules must be adhered to. We ask that you ensure that your child understands these rules and follows them. If they do not, they will not be able to participate:

1. No jewelry can be worn or brought to practice.  Medical alert bands are permitted but must be secured.

2. Artificial nails are prohibited. Nails must be kept short.

3. Socks and athletic sneakers must be worn to all practices.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  No sneakers, no cheerleading!!!

4. Hair should be kept back and off the face.

5. Clothing should be loose and comfortable. (NO jeans, jean shorts, half-shirts or skirts) this applies to ALL ages.  Also, spaghetti strap tanks (older girls), no super short shorts, no bellies or undergarments showing and no low cut or off the shoulder shirts.

6. NO CELL PHONES. They are very disruptive during practice.

7.  And for the adults...  NO ANIMALS ARE PERMITTED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.  YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF YOU HAVE AN ANIMAL WITH YOU.  ALSO THERE IS NO ALCOHOL and there is NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING E CIGARETTES ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.  Please set a good example for our children and follow the rules!

DROP OFF/PICK UP AND PARKING:

- When dropping off and picking up at practice...  An ADULT MUST walk all cheerleaders onto the field and make sure a TEAM ADULT is present at practice before you leave, this goes for ALL ages.  For pick up an adult must be present on the field before any cheerleader will be released, this goes for all ages.  NO CHEERLEADER WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE FIELD WITHOUT AN ADULT.  These rules were put in place for the safety of YOUR CHILD!

- DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE EXCEPT MARKED PARKING SPACES IN THE PARKING LOT!  There are 2 different lots you can park in...  the one between Hobart and Floyd El. and the Floyd el parking lot off Van Buren and Meadowmere.  DO NOT park or pull up in ANY OF THE BUS LOOPS or along the roadway.  YOU MUST BE PARKED IN MARKED PARKING SPACES.  This rule is for the safety of ALL those involved in Lynvet.

PARENT/COACH INTERACTION

- FOR NO REASON IS ANYONE TO APPROACH A COACH OR THE TEAM BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER PRACTICE.  If you have a problem please see one of the team moms at an appropriate time.  Those that don't follow this rule will be removed from the league.

Just a reminder...  ALL children should use the bathroom before practice (there are no bathrooms on the field).

Bring a water bottle (no soda or glass bottles allowed) and wear bug repellent.  Please clean up all garbage after practice!

Please make sure your child’s Coaches and Team Moms are present before dropping them off for practice. We cannot be responsible for any child on the field unattended. Please check with your Team Mom each practice for ending time as it could occasionally change due to the coaches schedule. Please be on time for drop off and pick up.  Younger teams (6 & 8) may have to sign out with Team Moms, please check with your team mom at the first practice.

This Season the 6, 8 and 10 yr old teams will be cheering at the first 4 football games and then starting in mid October ALL TEAMS (6,8,10,14) will be attending competitions on the weekends. Attendance at ALL Competitions is mandatory.  There will be an additional competition fee (approximately $100) that will be due mid to late September. This will cover crop, briefs, socks and hair bows. These items will be yours to keep at seasons end.  Uniform (shell & skirt) sizing and distribution will be done at practice (In end of September, beginning of October).  Please remember the uniform (shell & skirt) is a rental from Lynvet.  It must be properly cleaned and cared for and promptly returned at seasons end.

Please understand that all of us involved in Lynvet (coordinators, coaches and team moms) are VOLUNTEERS. We ask if you are going to miss a practice, call the team mom or email us before 5:00pm. Most of our coaches are high school and college age young adults, so if you have any concerns or questions please see your team moms.  Do not approach coaches please.

Please visit us at our web site. All information will be posted there.
