After much research and discussion, the MFL has agreed to revise its previous age and weight categories to bring us in line with Football Canada, the Ontario Football Alliance and the Canadian Governments Long Term Athlete Development Progarm (LTAD). Our new structure will be safer for our players and provide them with a more satisfactory football experience. It is as follows:

Tyke age 9 and 10 as of Dec.31st... Born in 1999, 2000

Atom age 11 and 12 as of Dec.31st... Born in 1997, 1998

Peewee age 13 and 14 as of Dec.31st... Born in 1995,1996

Bantam age 15,16 and 17 as of Dec.31st... Born in 1992, 1993, 1994

Please note, there are NO weight limits...

Club Physio PDF
Club Physio Plus will be providing us with certified trainers, when available, to help insure the proper treatment of any injuries that may occur during our games. It is the intent of the MFL to provide trained athletic injury personnel at all games. The use of Club Physio Plus certified trainers is our preferred source but occasionally the demand outstrips the supply and they are unable to supply trainers for all of our games. We are presently working on a solution to this problem.

The role that football can play in the education of our youth is illustrated in this article from the CBC. To read the article please click on http://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/story/2009/10/01/spf-football-morgan-ainsworth.html.
